unable to scale mysql db role, hangs at "in progress"

the sole server/replication master is stuck in "in progress" for mysql last backup and last bundle data. It's been reporting that for over 6 hours. In this state the db server is unable to scale '[FarmID: 1] Role \'db-server-20120712-01\' being synchronized. This role will not be scalled.'

Is there something in sql that can be cleared, or something on the instance?

the remote instance which was added to scale hangs at bootstrapping in the /etc/scalr/.state

These just started popping up too. not sure if its related.

Resolved my own issue, updated the following to 0 values, seems like it hung and did not update after the backups were completed.
