(( Prak Zel Hospital ))

:: At the moment, all Panell Sodan wanted was to sleep. He was stuck in this Zakdorn hospital until they were good enough to release him and he had nothing else to do but sit. The Zakdorn apparently believe littled in storytelling and nearly all of their holovid channels were forms of local news or analysis of galactic affairs. Sodan tried to watch some of the professional Strategam that was being broadcast but he couldn't make much sense of the game. What he'd really like to see one of these prune-faced genisues in a phaser fight. ::

:: With nothing to do but lay there and be disgruntled, Sodan was actually not that bothered when the Andorian medic came walking up to his biobed. ::

Aareth: How are you feeling?

Panell: Bored.

:: Ever the conversationalist, Sodan just looked Aareth as he sat down nearby. He hoped for some good news about his release. ::

Aareth: I've been told you're just in for observation and that you'll be discharged soon. I imagine you're probably going a little stir crazy.

Panell: At least on the ship I could have a PADD and the computer. Unless you really care about Al-Leyan mining contracts in Romulan space, or the price of Orion tea on Risa, then the Zakdorn's entertainment choices are pretty useless.

:: Sodan let out a rumbling noise in his frustration. He looked at the Andorian, who for the moment appeared to be interested in some nurse who was walking by. Sodan noticed that one of the man's antennae was pointing towards her. Sodan wasn't about to ask what that meant. At least it was more intriguing than Stratagema. ::

Aareth: I figured you could use an update. The ship is still powered down and the crew have been checked into temporary accommodation. It's a decent hotel. There's a room booked in your name too, so if that's not incentive to get well then I don't know what is!

Panell: Great. Any chance I can get to the ship soon to help with repairs?

:: Though he worked in Science, Sodan had the experience to at least do some of the grunt work in engineering if not more complex assignments. He'd been the primary repair worker on attack craft and even done some building for a few Maquis cells. Unfortunately, Aareth just shook his head. ::

Aareth: No estimates yet, or at least none that we've been told about. I'm hoping it won't be too long, though.

:: Just then, Sodan's twenty-year-old niece Loris Tayna came walked into view. He brightened up at the sight of her. When he'd first woken up in the hospital, Sodan had nearly fought his way out of bed trying to find out what happened to the ship and to Tayna. Only when they confirmed that she was fine and being cared for at some shipyard did he finally calm down and go back to sleep. ::

Panell: There's my real medicine, Aareth.

Aareth: RESPONSE

:: The young Bajoran woman approached with her usual shyness, not really looking at the Andorian medic and focusing on Sodan. She reached out a hand to his and he took it with a smile. ::

Panell: How are you, cheli? ((OOC: "beloved child" in Bajoran))

Loris: I'm fine. Our hotel room is very nice.

:: Despite his own social issues, Sodan was aware enough to not want his niece to be closed off from the world around her. He motioned to Aareth who was still sitting nearby. ::

Sodan: Tayna, this is Aareth. He is from the Vigilant and he's been helping me.

Aareth: RESPONSE

:: The girl looked up as far as the man's blue neck, forcing her mouth in a smile that seemed very uncomfortable. ::

Loris: Thank you for helping.

Aareth: RESPONSE

:: Sodan frowned at her inability to open up. It wasn't like she's grown up around only Bajorans. In the Maquis they'd had comrades from various races who'd joined the cause. Granted, Sodan didn't recall any Andorians. Still, Tayna would have likely not performed much better had Aareth been a Human or even Bajoran for that matter. Not seeing this as a real teaching moment, though, Sodan let it go and drew his niece's attention back to him. ::

Sodan: Cheli, go and find me one of those cinnamon-tasting pastries you brought last time.

:: She nodded and turned away abruptly, leaving the room without so much as a glance at Aareth. Sodan looked at the Andorian and apologetically shrugged his shoulders. ::

Sodan: Sorry. She's... I don't know. I can't crack it.

Aareth: RESPONSE

Sodan: You'd think so. I mean... yes, her parents were killed. But she didn't see it. They found me and brought me to her. I told her... and we've been together ever since. I hadn't seen her since she was very little, but I remember her being so bright and talkative.

Aareth: RESPONSE
