(OOC: Haha, yeah, I was wondering if I should have put a “Part 1” in the title of that last one. The shinies aren’t quite done yet, folks.)
((Officer’s Mess, USS Veritas))
::Roshanara smiled broadly, directing Mei'konda to open the box, as she turned back towards Evan Delano.::
Rahman: It is my great pleasure to reinstate you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
::She glanced over at the Caitian to pin the third pip to the Vulcanoid's collar.::
Rahman: Commander?
Mei'konda: Congraatulations, Commander Delano.
::Delano smiled, and his eyes watered. She could feel the complexity—and intensity—of the emotions behind this moment, and for the first time in a long while, she felt her own empathic barriers that she had so diligently worked with Tristam to strengthen fall back now slightly. But in that moment, she wanted to experience even just a sliver of what Delano was feeling now. Harrison Ross had taken so much from both of them. This moment felt like the end of the final chapter in that painful saga. And as Roshanara looked at Mei’konda’s own emotional reaction to pinning that third pip back on Delano’s collar, she was glad that the end to the Ross saga that had been marked by so much pain and hate would be one of not just redemption and celebration but love.::
Delano: Thank you.
::The captain nodded, bowing her head slightly.::
Rahman: You’re very welcome, commander.

Mei’konda: Whiile we’re all here…
::The Caitian held up a PADD of his own he’d been hiding.::
Mei’konda: I haave the final results of the shuttle triaals here. I waant to congratulate and thaank everyone here for their haard work on the project. You all went above and beyond.

Mei’konda: In the fiinal trial, the Prospero outperformed the Shadow in all categories. Siince it won two out of the three trials, I would like Commander Walker to assign engineering teams to updaate the other Type Ten shuttlepods to the Prospero’s specificaations over the next few weeks. ::Beat:: With, of course, any lessons leaarned from the Shadow integraated.
Walker: Of course Commander. And congratulations to the Prospero team.
Kelrod: If we can combine Prospero’s general layout with the sneak and toughness properties of the Shadow, we could have a magnificent shuttle variant.
Delano: Agreed.
Rahman: Both teams performed admirably, and the fact that they each showed superiority in different scenarios as examined by the trials tells me I would be a fool to shelve the lessons learned from either team.
::She looked over to Walker and offered a small conciliatory smile.::
Rahman: While Prospero will serve as the model for the base specifications of the remaining two shuttles, we’ll keep Shadow as is. And more importantly, what this project has given us is a deep library of potential modules we can install on our shuttlecraft to give them that extra edge to succeed in whatever scenario a real mission will throw at us.

Rahman: As such, all those who participated on the shuttle project — Commander Mei'konda, Ensign Harik, Commander Blair, Dr. Skyfire, Commander Kelrod, Ensign Wolfe, Commander Walker, and Lt. Commander Delano — have earned a citation of the Innovation Ribbon. In addition, those who were on the Prospero Team - Commander Mei'konda, Ensign Harik, Commander Blair, and Dr. Skyfire — are additionally cited the Captain’s Commendation. Congratulations.

::As some folks began to wander, Roshanara cleared her throat.::
Rahman: Ahem. Believe it or not… there’s more!
::She managed to stifle a snicker. She looked back at Mei’konda.::
Rahman: Commander, if you’d retrieve the *other* box.
Mei’konda: RESPONSE
::She turned to face the other officers, her eyes widening a bit.::
Rahman: Who will be my next victim…
Any: RESPONSE
Rahman: …Lieutenant Rosek!
Rosek: RESPONSE
::Roshanara waved for the engineer to join her at the front.::
Rahman: Yes, yes, if you’d come forward, please.
Rosek: RESPONSE
Rahman: You’ve had to acquaint yourself with so many new things since you were assigned here: a new ship, new region, new department head, and new captain.
::She raised an eyebrow but grinned.::
Rahman: And though perhaps there were some growing pains, you’ve certainly made quite the impression and impact on this ship and crew. For outstanding performance in your duties as a Starfleet engineer and member of this crew, I hereby promote you to the rank of lieutenant commander.
::She nodded as Mei’konda opened the box and then took the pip herself.::
Rahman: And if Commander Mei’konda will allow me to pin this one…
::She reached forward, her hand brushing briefly past the woman’s long blonde locks, and affixed the new third pip gently on Rosek’s collar.::
Rahman: Congratulations, commander.
