[V] Ensign T'Katt Dugoras: Officially reporting for duty

::Previously T'Katt had always felt a sort of insecurity when entering new jobs and when he entered Starfleet academy he had felt that feeling the strongest. His training on Starbase 118 forced him face some personal issues he had been avoiding and with it's completion and his graduation he certainly felt like a new man. The uncertainty and lack of confidence he had developed in the past seemed to have melted away from him, as though he had been frozen barely able to move but was now free and able to soar; at least that's how he perceived it from the sensations and imagery he received during his last meditation.::

::T'Katt held up his data pad once again going over the swell of information it contained on his new assignment. The Veritas was currently on shore leave following their last mission, the successful rescue of a stranded Galaxy class starship. The crew is currently resting at Star Station Esperance while the Veritas undergoes repairs after the intense battle that took place during the mission. T'Katt was glad to read that the crew was preparing for the upcoming wedding; after dealing with stressful situations such as combat during a mission it is great for ones emotional state to  be able to focus on such positive things. Though as he knew from his studies many species are prone to harboring negative feeling under veil in times such as these as well which is not good; T'Katt made a mental note to observe the crew closely as he got to know them over the next few days.::

oOShe sounds like an excellent leader. She is the same age as me, and she has accomplished so much!.Oo ::He thought as he reviewed the files on his new captain Dr. Roshanara Rahman once more.::

::Unlike previous ventures T'Katt wasn't feeling uncertain or worried this go around. His post as ships counselor on the USS Veritas was certainly a major accomplishment on his part and a lot was riding on his ability to preform but he felt excited and capable enough to tackle this challenge.::

(( Docking bay, USS Veritas ))

::T'Katt had to actively contain his excitement as the shuttle docked, he was feeling so impatient it seemed like hours before the shuttle set down and its door swung open, literally opening the door to his future it seemed. As he stepped off the shuttle a single pack containing some equipment and documents slung over his shoulder he took the time to allow this feeling to take hold. Everything he sensed brought a feeling of pleasure and accomplishment, the lights, the sights, the air, it was all intoxicating. He wondered how he could have ever been uncertain of this path, serving on a ship like this, it was now all he desired.::

oOIt's 0724 and I am to meet the Captain at 0800 I have some time if I modify the plan.Oo

::T'Katt had gotten simple schematics of the Veritas and set up a route from one turbolift to the next that would allow him to preview each deck he passed on the way to the bridge before meeting the captain, however his plan hadn't accounted for the minor hold ups that had taken place reducing his time for this activity from one hour to about half an hour. Quickly he prioritized his visits and laid out a new plan as he entered the first turbo lift just outside the docking bays doors in that decks main hall. Moving with haste and being sure to remain out of the way of the working repair crews he examined the general layout and designs of each deck and corridor he passed. It was kind of exhilarating seeing the ship missing panels, with wires and other pieces hanging about being systematically repaired.::

oOPerfect, 0757, I made good time.Oo ::He thought checking the time as he entered the last turbolift and headed to the bridge.::

(( Bridge, USS Veritas ))

::Upon entering the bridge T'Katt was met with inquiry from a posted security officer who after a quick introduction showed him to the Captains ready room. T'Katt for the first time since setting out for this assignment felt a flicker of fear, not a doubting fear but rather the kind you feel when your a child and you know your about to be punished for something. Meeting the captain was intimidating him a bit it seemed, none the less he pressed the button next the the ready room door and waiting for his signal to enter.::

Rahman: Response

:After receiving the OK T'Katt entered the ready room and found Captain Rahman sitting at her desk a stack a data pads spread in front of her.::

oOMust be reports on all the repair's.Oo ::He reasoned.::

Dugoras: ::Setting his bag down and standing at attention:: Ensign T'Katt Dugoras, reporting for duty as Counselor aboard the USS Veritas! ::He couldn't help but give some emphasis and a little drama to the line as he said it. It was certainly born from the pride he felt saying it.::

Rahman: Response

Dugoras: Of course Captain, and thank you, I am very much looking forward to this assignment, and to getting to know the crew.

::T'Katt listened intently as she spoke.::
