Vanlith: Hi is anyone here?

Charlenas face brightens as she was greeted by a smile. That helped her feel slightly more at ease.

Alexander-Dalton: Hello. What can I do for you?

Vanlith: Hi. I need a check-up anyway but my head is pounding.

Charlena noticed the frown but hoped that she didn't need to worry. She followed the direction given to her and took a seat on the biobed.

Alexander-Dalton: Are you prone to headaches?

Vanlith: Honestly I have no idea what's brought it on. For the last 5 days I've been getting these headaches and I just can't do anything but sit in pain.

She moved toward her with instruments in hand, first scanning the woman’s head for any indications of deeper concerns. When she found none, she began scans for a simpler root cause.

Alexander-Dalton: Stress can sometimes cause painful headaches. ::glances at the woman:: And admittedly, this last mission was somewhat stressful...even with the small glimpses I had of the situation. Have you felt more stressed than usual?

Vanlith: Since the mission ended it's been quite relaxed for me to be honest. Well nothing out of the ordinary stress level wise.

Alexander-Dalton: Has your diet changed at all in the last few days? Decreased caffeine intake? That sort of thing?

Vanlith: Urm. Definitely not decreased caffeine I don't have a lot anyway. I mean I'm possibly eating better since the mission ended. I tend to get a bit sapped in and don't entirely look after myself.

Charlena internally winced at her own words. She really did need to start making sure she looked after herself more.

Alexander-Dalton: What about sleep? Have your sleep habits changed?

Vanlith: Again I'm probably sleeping more since the mission ended.

That made sense. It was the nature of the job. They endured periods of high stress followed by lulls in activity. It was enough to wear down even the healthiest person.

Alexander-Dalton: These can all be potential triggers for headaches.

Vanlith: I see. So nothing to worry about then?

Alexander-Dalton: ::shakes her head:: Nothing that can’t be easily remedied.

Vanlith: Is there anything you can suggest to help? Things I should do or shouldn't do?

Charlena hoped that there wasn't anything particularly wrong as the doc addressed ger scans again. Or at least if something was wrong it was easily remedied. She tugged at the hair if the left if get face.

Alexander-Dalton: According to the scans, your vitamin D and magnesium levels are a bit on the low side. I’d recommend a daily vitamin D hypo to start your day and the same with your magnesium levels. You can also find vitamin D in foods such as fish, eggs, and milk. Magnesium can be found in nuts, seeds, and leafy vegetables.

Vanlith: Well if my head's fine I guess there's nothing to worry about.

Alexander-Dalton: ::pauses and nods:: For the moment. Like I said, I’d like to try hypos to correct your nutrient deficiencies. If for whatever reason your levels don’t go back to normal or your headaches become worse or more frequent, I’d like to see you back in Sickbay to perform some more detailed scans on your head.

Vanlith: :: Nervously.:: Do you think that could happen? That nothing would change?

Alexander-Dalton: ::smiles:: No, not at all. In fact, in 9 out of 10 cases, the supplements correct the issue fairly quickly. Usually, the most that’s required beyond that is adjusting the dosages.

Vanlith: ::letting out a sign of relief:: That's good at least. There's an end in sight.

Alexander-Dalton: ::grins:: Headaches, I’m sad to say, are a common feature of Starfleet life. Most of us get them at least on occasion from stress, changes in routine, or fatigue. A bit of rest should take care of most of it.

Vanlith: In all honesty that sounds brilliant. As long as an end is in sight then I'm sure I'll be able to power through.

Alexander-Dalton: Response

Vanlith: So I'll pop by every morning for the hypos?

Alexander-Dalton: Response

Vanlith: Yeah that's fine by me. How long until we'll know if that's fixed it?

Alexander-Dalton: Response

Jumping up for the biobed a new spring in her step now there was a light at the end of the headache tunnel.

Vanlith: Sounds good to me. Thanks for the help.

Alexander-Dalton: Response

Vanlith: Honestly thank you so much. I'll be back for my first hypo tomorrow.

With that and a huge smile across her face Char made her way out of sickbay. The headaches would end and there was nothing wrong with her that couldn't be fixed by changes to her diet. Things were looking good.

End for Charlena.
