MacKenzie: ::studying her tricorder results and making notes on her PADD:: And how have you been adjusting to life on the Veritas?

::Addison was afraid she was starting to sound like Jansen.::

Vanlith: ::For the first time that question didn't bug her. It felt more like it was coming from a friendly place than just the exam.:: It hasn't been the easiest but I'm getting there.

MacKenzie: Well, that’s to be expected. I suspect you’ll start to get more comfortable with everyone as time goes on.

Vanlith: I hope so. It might be a bit difficult if I don't. ::Charlena rubbed the back of her neck as she thought of some of her awkward encounters.::

MacKenzie: Any concerns you want to bring up while I’ve got you here?

Vanlith: None to be honest. Physically I feel fine.

MacKenzie: Well, good. My tricorder also says that you’re physically fine, so that’s good news!

::Charlena felt a smile cross her face.::

Vanlith: I must say you have made this not entirely terrifying.

MacKenzie: ::bowing, slightly sarcastically:: Well, I certainly aim to do what I can. Did you have any reason to believe you should be terrified?

Vanlith: Yeah urm. I've not had the best of previous experiences.

MacKenzie: ::returning the tricorder and PADD to the instrument cart:: Is that anything you’d like to elaborate on?

Vanlith: It's not so much me just what I've seen. There have been complications that have led to life changing outcomes.

MacKenzie: That’s awfully vague...

Vanlith: I urm. I don't want to take up your time . I'm sure you're rather busy.

MacKenzie: Well, we’re all busy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time.

Vanlith: It's nothing overly important.

MacKenzie: Well, if you don’t want to elaborate, I suppose I can’t force you…

Vanlith: It's not something I particularly talk about. ::Charlena internally kicked herself. She needed to stop half talking and half not.::

MacKenzie: ::smiling, not wanting to push the issue:: Suit yourself.

Vanlith: Maybe another time.

MacKenzie: My door is always open. In the meantime, everything checks out, and you’re approved for duty. You’re free to go.

Vanlith: That's great. I'll see you around.

:: Charlena stood and walked head held high out of Sickbay. Maybe that wasn't so terrifying after all.::
