[SSE] Ensign T'Katt Dugoras: A little drink to calm

Dugoras: Either way I'm sure we'll be able to benefit one another if the need arises after all In addition to physical health, medical officers will often struggle with patients suffering from psychological problems. As I'm sure you know even simple missions can be stressful situations, and mental illness among crewman possible. Many struggle with issues like anxiety, depression, insomnia and post-traumatic stress disorder, knowing how to address these kinds of issues is important even for medical officers not just counselors. Sometimes being able to relate to a patient in a completely non-medical way can be enough to stabilize a situation. 

::T'Katt had to cut himself short before he looked foolish, there he was rambling on in front of an accomplished and superior medical officer.::

oO Way to reiterate basic knowledge T'Katt! Oo ::He briefly yelled at himself in his thoughts while keeping a calm and confident face.::

::Suddenly he really wanted to go read his code book and meditate; he had been from point A to point B with little time to reflect on his accomplishments and insights or even simply to rest since leaving for Starbase 118. It was obvious to T'Katt now that one of his toughest clients during this upcoming assignment would be himself, even after all he had worked through already.::

Skyfire: Indeed. :: He paused thoughtfully. :: After sorting out your physical, could I book an appointment?

::T'Katt had noticed the Lieutenants expressions as he talked coupled with his simple replies. He wondered what the Doctor thought of him so far, he had done nothing but state the obvious. Lieutenant Chythar had surprised him slightly by asking if he could book an appointment.::

oO Perhaps he is interested in seeing my methods in counseling, of course he could be simply complying with general policy in the hopes of just getting his session over with. Oo 

Dugoras: Yes you can, I have yet to put together a solid scheduel and we can meet at anytime you'd like until I do.

Skyfire: I don't know whether your security clearances have been sorted out, but you'll find my psych history quite detailed. 

Dugoras: I have met with Security Chief Tuk and we had a chance to talk and get everything in order, though with how busy I have been and the crew having just ended a mission, and with the wedding going to happen soon. I haven't had a chance to read any more than the initial personnel files I received upon assignment. 

::After a moment of silence between them T'Katt decided to leave the Doctor to his socializing and attempt to mingle with the others until it was time for the ceremony to begin, he did after all have several more people to meet, and possible connections to make.::

Dugoras: Well Doctor again I am looking forward to working with you, I was excited to learn I would be serving with you as I enjoyed with your article in the Starfleet medical journal; I read it in more detail after learning my final instructor would be Commander Rosek.

::It seemed as though the Lieutenant had to think briefly about what T'Katt had said before he replied.::

Skyfire: Of course. I look forward to answering all your questions about my prior articles in the SFMJ, perhaps later on when we aren't about to appear at a wedding.

Dugoras: I look forward to that as well, I should go meet with some of the other crewman and guests before we have to leave for the ceremony. ::He paused for a moment then offered a hand shake to the Lieutenant.:: Until later Doctor.

::With that interaction done T'Katt made is way to the nearest space that would allow him to go fairly unnoticed. After looking around a moment to ensure he wasn't being observed he quickly retrieved the flask of Vulcan brandy stuffed in his jacket's inner pocket and took a rather large swig. He was hoping the alcohol would help to keep him calm. Allowing himself to be immersed in his excitement earlier had been a mistake; with the stress of fitting into a new post and his personal insecurity in a large social gathering such as this, along with the fifty eight or so hour's he had been awake his ability to think clearly was definitely becoming hindered.::
