((IKS S'Tarahk - Main Bridge))

::Time ticked down, but his bridge was not nervous. In fact the air rang with the sound of singing, an ode to battle and a tale of a warrior falling but clutching victory in his dying hands. A fitting tale for the battle about to be joined, but Dempok was quietly confident.

His ship was a powerhouse, there was no question about that. But that false sense of complacency was pushed to the back of his mind. They faced a cunning foe and a desperate one driven solely by revenge, which meant they would make decisions both reckless and dangerous for the sake of victory.

A dull claxon blared as they finally dropped out of warp, Dempok rising in his chair as he watched the Avalon being battered by that deadly hunter::

Dempok: They engaged too early those fools! Target the Sienov and fire at will!

::the ship lurched with each shot from it's overpowered disruptor banks. The Negh'Var didn't have the niceties of Federation equivalents such as recoil dampening, she was designed to do one thing with absolute efficiency and that was deliver the will of the Empire where it was needed::

Tekal: The Albion is signalling they are preparing for a long ranged attack.

Dempok: Keep the Sienov occupied then, target their cloak and shield generators! They won't hide from us.

::Blast after blast hit the Warbird, finally those shields cracking as the Albion delivered a tremendous hit. But it was costly, the Avalon exploding violently throwing even Dempoks mighty ship off-kilter in a sea of sparking consoles::

Tekal: The Avalon is destroyed, the Albion is taking hits and losing shields. The Albion is requesting cover.

::The Albion was no match for the Sienov, but she'd punched well above her weight on that last run and had certainly earned respect from the few officers on his bridge that had doubted the Federations tactical integrity.::

Dempok: Bring us between them, give the beast something else to shoot at!

::The S'Tarahk turned, pushing itself like a literal shield between the two before rocking violently as sparks flared across the surface of each bridge console. Power flickered wildly, although it held after automated system resets. Romulan polaron trickery no doubt, designed to incapacitate rather then destroy ships. Fitting for an old prison warden vessel, they wouldn't want to kill every escapee after all. It was also something the Empire had prepared for  in advance, in case worst and come to worst::

Tekal: Our Sheilds are losing power, armor is holding.

Dempok: Bring torpedo's to bear. Target her engines.

::The Negh'var had a terrible bite when she was allowed to hit an enemy face on, her forward torpedo launcher was grossly overpowered just like the Vor'cha's nose disruptor. It was the mark and style of the Empire, to face their enemies literally head on.::

Tekal: Locked.

::He savoured this moment, vengeance for every officer that had died on the ruptured Avalon and the countless Klingons that had died to the hands of Arrhimens ship.::

Dempok: Fire!

::A dozen streaks of red flared from the S'Tarahk's prow, each one whirling through the darkness of space towards the Sienov on an unerring and terrible course. The first few hit the shields, overloading the completely before the rest tore into the thick green hull of the enemy vessel, but it wasn't enough. One nacelle exploded, tearing itself away from the curved wing-like housing but the impulse engines remained defiant as the Sienov turned and pushed away, heading into the gaseous cloud of the nebula.::

Tekal: She's heading into the Nebula!

Dempok: I can see with my own eyes Commander.

::He paused for a second, lifting his hand up. He was about to order the pursuit, but the Albion was limping behind them. He couldn't leave them stranded here, with a wounded Warbird prowling for revenge.::

Dempok: What damage did the Sienov sustain?

Science: She's lost her port nacelle, cloaking device and shields destroyed. Disruptor's heavily damaged. She's wounded Sir, but not without teeth.

::But most importantly, she wasn't going to run. She was hobbled, and exposed::

Dempok: =/\= Dempok to Albion, what is your condition?

Albion: =/\= ?

Dempok: =/\= The Sienov has fled into the nebula, but she's took heavy damage. Shields, cloak and warp engines destroyed.

Albion: =/\= ?

::Dempok nodded::

Dempok: =/\= Rescue the Avalon's survivors, we will lead the way but our sensors will be useless in there. I can only hope for some of your famed Federation engineering trickery to give us some eyes in that mess.

Albion: =/\= ?

Dempok: =/\= We'll head to breach the cloud in five minutes, make your recovery effort brief.

::He closed the channel, gesturing forward towards the cloud where the wounded warbird had hid. It was a trap, no doubt about it, one he intended to spring.::

Dempok: And so the hunt begins.
