Lt JG Peters: Don't Just Stand There! (Whittaker)

:: The fires that had broken out across the deck have been contained. Engineering crews were either still battling the small hotspots or sitting on the sidelines drinking water to escape the effects of heat stroke and dehydration, some of them treating each other for plasma burns received when fires ignited throughout the deck. Peters was guzzling down a bottle of water to counteract the dehydration when he heard an alarm break out: bio-hazard. Everyone stood for a few moments dumbfounded trying to figure out what happened. Peters called out to his weary crew mates. ::

Peters: Don't just stand there! Figure it out! Now!

:: He was normally very calm-tempered, but bio-hazards made him angry. Especially when he didn't have any information.  The alarm kept blaring, and Cadfael did everything he could to keep things under control.  ::

Peters: Anyone got eyes on the environmental controls? 

:: A young Terran spoke up from one of the auxiliary consoles behind the acting chief, his voice shaking as he gave the report. ::

Emrys: Contaminant on the bridge...and spreading.

Peters: How bad is it?

Emrys: Decks 1 through 4, sir.

Peters: Lock it down. Quarantine protocols in effect on those decks. Emergency force fields, turbolift overrides.

Emrys: Aye, sir... 

:: The crewman did what he could to carry out the chief's orders, nervous and shaking. Peters placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder as he had seen Theo do earlier to the young Rodulan. This seemed to be one of those moments where he wished the chief was actually in this room. ::

Peters: You're doing great, Merlin. Just keep it together. And see if you can shut that d**n thing off, will you?

:: Merlin gave a somewhat shaky nod and continued to seal off the decks. After that was accomplished, Peters punched in a call to Whittaker. The alarm went silent as the call began. ::

Peters: =/\= Engineering to Whittaker. Got a moment, chief?

Whittaker: =/\= ?

Peters: =/\= Bio-hazard alarm went off in engineering, and from what I can tell decks 1-4 have been infected. Sealed them off and enacted quarantine protocols. Since it spread to three other decks, I'm guessing it's airborne.

Whittaker: =/\= ?
