((Holodeck 7 - StarBase 118))

::Baylen had gone to the a Tailor in the New Orleans District and had a custom fitted maroon Star Fleet Uniform made with a nice bright white ribbed turtle neck and then replicated the two Captains Rank Attachments, one for his sleeve and the Other for the white leather strap that went over the shoulder and onto the breast.  The Star Fleet device on the black leather belt was shined and on his sleeve he had a few dots and dashes as service markers.  His pants with the bright marron strip was nicely bloused into the black calf high duty boots.

Baylen walked up to see Sal standing next to the door along with a few other crew members.  He looked around at them all this Classic uniforms.::

Taybrim: So, here's how the program goes - we will enter the holodeck and take our stations.  Before the simulation begins, you will each get a message at your station outlining your goals in the game as well as some information about your duty post.  You can set the game's difficulty level at that time.  It should all be quite self explanatory, though you can inquire for help from the program at any time.  ::a pause, he coughed:: I should also mention that three of our crew will be receiving different orders.  ::Deep breath in:: they will be playing the saboteurs, and will have a different set of goals from the main players.

Anders: Sounds easy enough. ::Grinning::

Any: ?

Taybrim: ::He nodded:: Yes, the saboteurs are known to one another, but secret from the rest of the players.  They are picked at random as the program starts so no one, not even myself knows who they are.  The only player who can not be a saboteur is the Captain.  ::He gestured towards Baylen.::

Anders: Well that is good to know… So no munity’s guys ::Grinning:: Or its off the brig with you after your flogging. ::Laughing::

Taybrim: ::A chuckle:: Don't worry, the Captain has other worries.  You, Baylen, are the only player who can order another player into the brig; so choose wisely!

Anders: ::Baylen cast a look around the other players with a grinning smirk on his face.:: I see.

::Sal Stepped into the Holodeck and pointed, Baylen walked in, onto his temporary bridge.  It was beautiful to Baylen  The polished grey decks the old 1st Generation LCARS The Captains Chair was a nice plush light grey fabric, all the other chairs matched in color but much smaller.  The rear wall had a red leather covering on the lower points.  The Helm and the Nav Stations were one step down.  The only difference in this bridge than that was the USS Enterprise A was that the USS Armstrong-A was there was one extra Station that was behind the Command chair, a standing Operations Station.  No chair for the First Officer, but in those days the First Officer was also a Department Head.::

Taybrim: Friends, welcome to the past!  Commander Anders, if you will take your place...  ::With a sweeping gesture he motioned to the center seat::

Anders: :: Baylen walked in and looked around and ran his hands over the small Station behind his chair and took and seat, and to his surprise it was more comfortable then the Albion and the Aegis, a bit higher off the ground and more padded. Rubbing the arm rest:: I can get use this… ::Smiling::

Taybrim: And everyone, take your stations!

::The computer whirred, the simulation stayed still except for the computer screens which flared to life.  Each of the delivered the following message:

~*~

To: Player of "Piracy on the High Stars"

Your Duty Post is: [insert post here]

Please set difficulty level:

1 = Mellow (I have no knowledge of this duty post, please give me lots of help!)

2 = Normal (I have a basic knowledge of this duty post and like puzzles!)

3 = Hardcore (I have strong knowledge of this duty post, lay it on me!)

Your in-Game goals are:

1. Prevent the USS Armstrong-A from being destroyed by the Klingons.

2. Find and incarcerate the saboteurs (3)

3. Work together with your crew to return peacefully to Federation Space

4. Have fun!

This simulation will commence in 30 seconds.

::The computer waited for the allotted time before the holodeck flashed to life.  The USS Armstrong was zooming through the stars, as the shriek of a red alert sounded across the bridge::

Computer: Red Alert!  Red Alert!  Engines have been locked at Warp 8, course heading: directly into Klingon Territory!

Taybrim: ::Taking a deep breath in, falling immediately into character::  We'll hit the neutral zone in two minutes, Sirs!

::Baylen turned to face the Station that that Flynn was sitting at and smiled::

Anders: Mute that alert, ::looking at Taybrim:: Yeoman record it in our log, set all logs to send to Star Fleet Command and launch a class 1 transponder right away.

Flynn/Taybrim: ?

Anders: Are we able to use thrusters to change course?

::All eyes looked towards helm, tactical and engineering first::

Trel'lis/Cain: ?

Whittaker/Greyson: ?

Taybrim: The rules of the Khitomer accords state that any unauthorized entry across the neutral zone can be seen as an act of war!

Anders: Anyway to override our warpcore while still at warp?

Flynn/Whittaker: ?

Any: ?

Taybrim: Mr. Vondaryan, could this be sabotage?  Or is there a more scientific explanation for this malfunction?  ::Looking back and forth from security to science::

Vondaryan/Taelon: ?

Anders: What does the borderland detection devices look like where we will enter Klingon Space?

Flynn/Whittaker/Vondaryan/Taelon/Greyson/Taybrim/ Trel'lis/Cain/Mirra: ?

Anders: No!!! Keep the shield down, as a matter of fact, start killing as much power to the ship as we can.

Flynn/Whittaker/Vondaryan/Taelon/Greyson/Taybrim/ Trel'lis/Cain/Mirra: ?

Anders: I want the smallest amount of power signature we can be once we cross. ::Looking at the time index under the view screen:: in 40 seconds.

Flynn/Whittaker/Vondaryan/Taelon/Greyson/Taybrim/ Trel'lis/Cain/Mirra: ?

Anders: Mr. Whittaker, and if you can find a way to kill to our warp core, I would be very happy.

Flynn/Whittaker/Vondaryan/Taelon/Greyson/Taybrim/ Trel'lis/Cain/Mirra: ?

Anders: Can we use our sensors and deflectors to maybe hide us when we come across the Klingon net?

Flynn/Whittaker/Vondaryan/Taelon/Greyson/Taybrim/ Trel'lis/Cain/Mirra: ?
