::The dinner was, in a word, fantastic. Cadfael allowed himself to relax a little as he stared out at the crowd. Once dessert had been consumed, it was time for the moment of presenting the contents of the mysterious rosewood boxes that people were so fond of presenting things in. It was almost second nature for a Starfleet commanding officer to present things in mysterious rosewood boxes, though exactly why Cadfael was clueless.::

Taybrim: As you all know, I have the honor of presenting awards and occasionally promotions to my crew; and I am most happy that all of you could gather to share this time with us.  As I look at the gathered, I see so much potential in all of you, and my words alone cannot express how proud I am to serve with each and every one of you.  ::He offered a genuine, soft smile::  However I'm going to try to make my words count and my thanks apparent.  So we'll begin without further ado.  ::He checked the list of names::  First up, upon hearing of our clever and quick solution to the Tribble troubles, Starfleet Command has authorized the award of the Innovation Ribbon for quick thinking, quick containment, and a number of very clever and innovative solutions to a breeding problem ranging from good response from our new medical teams, clever containment and the use of Klingon Pheremones to stop the advance of our weaponized furballs.  I must also add that 'hairless tribbles' had been added to the roster of recognized tribble breeds, under the species: Polygeminus grex lianius 118.  So now everyone who was onboard the station at that time can say they were part of tribble history.  ::He was grinning widely now, amused at the adventures a simple tribble convention had brought to the station.:: This award is presented to: Theo Whittaker, Baylen Anders, Kaitlyn Falcon, Antero Flynn, Freya Andersen, Cadfael Peters, Mirra Ezo, Zinna, Trel'lis, Tatash and Trellis Vondaryan.

::Tribble Troubles? Is that what the failed dinner party was? Along with the fur in the replicators, the decontamination chamber, the horrible stench of Klingon that took four showers to get out of one's hair? All of that yielded a ribbon? That was just weird. oO Maybe the innovative thinking that got us out of it was the reason. Oo he thought and clapped accordingly. Not a golf-clap, but the sort of clap which is genuine post-concert level.::

::As the commander's speech continued, more people were called up and recognized for their actions. Each one was well deserved, based on what reports Cadfael saw. The actions of each member of the crew were no small feat, and thus worthy again of concert-level applause.::

Taybrim: Next is an award that some may think is unusual.  We almost always associate lifesaving with medical service, but so many forget that any member of the crew can take actions that save lives.  In this case, Starfleet lives.  On Tilanna V we had an away team surrounded by hostile criminals that had already suffered casualties; and we needed to get aid to them.  In the end it was an incredible bit of Marine heroics that saved the day - and again I'll get to that in a moment.  But two officers really made that jump possible - Lt Commander Kaitlyn Falcon who expertly positions the Aegis into the atmosphere to allow the jump; and Lieutenant JG Cadfael Peters who calibrated the transporters to get the teams in and out of Anjunaar.  To both of you I award the Silver Lifesaving medal, for saving and protecting the lives of Starfleet officers.

::Once his name was called, he walked up and accepted the box which contained both his accolades he was receiving tonight. It was going to add to the rack of ribbons which was accumulating on his desk.::

Peters: oO Well, *that* was unexpected. Oo Thank you, sir. ::He accepted the box with a slight incline of his head in gratitude, then resumed his seat.::

Falcon: Response

::Once the Gorn was congratulated on his heroic dare-devil like stunt, Cadfael gave a hearty round of applause and had a sip of his brew. Then, Commander Taybrim's gaze seemed to blanket all of the crew as he spoke the final words of what looked to be the end of the ceremony.::

Taybrim: ::Looking to the assembled:: Congratulations all of you.  I am so happy to have you all onboard, and I look forward to many more successful missions to come.  For the rest of tonight, please eat, drink and be merry.  Welcome new friends, thank you old friends and may those who are no longer with us never be forgotten.

::As the crowd applauded and dispersed to mingle amongst themselves, Cadfael finished his drink and decided to duck out early. He'd had as much partying as he could take, and needed to be alone in order to get his head together. He thought bonding exercises like this were somewhat ridiculous anyway, so he'd just take the time in solitude to wrap his head around things.::

::Carter Greyson enters the coffee lounge, having just missed the ceremony. He had heard about the interesting holoprogram which was being put together and meandered over to the table which read "Sign-ups." As interesting as the game seemed, he also had a bit of a surprise planned for it. oO I wonder if any of them are musically inclined...It's a game, isn't it? Games have different modes...Hehehe! Oo He signed himself up for whatever spots were still open, and got himself a drink. He'd arrived a bit too late to grab some dinner, but there was apparently still some dessert left.::

Taybrim: Response

Greyson: Oh hi, Captain! I'd heard about the little party being put together and thought I'd come celebrate my graduation from the distance learning program at the same time.

Taybrim: Response

Greyson: Ensign Carter Greyson, sir. You may remember we served together aboard the USS Excalibur-A when I was still a tactical officer. Just got my degree in engineering.

Taybrim: Response

Anyone: Response
