((Bridge, USS Gorkon))

MacFarlane: Aye sir, before we do so ‘owever, may I present t’ yeh, the bridge o’ Th’ Blazin’ Aurora.

::As she finished the sentence, Tasha tapped a final command and her disguise came online. She couldn’t change the physical layout of the bridge, so instead she had subtly adjusted certain elements. First had been the colour scheme. Gone were the clean colours of a Starfleet vessel, replaced with a mildly dirty moss green and beige palette. Next, she had ever so slightly changed the shape of the consoles, rounding them out and bulking them up. Unable to forget the recommendation from Johns, Tasha hadn’t exactly crafted a throne for their captain, but the center chair certainly looked much nicer than any other on the bridge. Crushed velvet upholstery, in a striking Sapphire Blue, and solid armrests, constructed from a beautiful dark wood with small inlaid screens to give Captain Bhoda easy access to everything she needed..::

MacFarlane: What do you think sir?

::The final part of her disguise was now revealed, the voice filters, tied directly into the universal translator. Tasha’s voice was deeper now, and had taken a soft sibilance, very different from her strong Scottish accent::

MacFarlane: And before you ask, yes, I have disguised your voice too Captain.

Johns: Oh, this should be good.

Reynolds: This is excellent work, Lieutenant.

::She couldn’t help another proud grin from stretching her Cardassian features. It was rare that she had the chance to use her skills in holographic design, and rarer that she showed those skills to others.::

MacFarlane: Thank you Captain, now, let us see what Johns and I can pull out of the sensors.

Johns: Science is reporting that all fifty of the pallets are in full operation and are sucking power like a leech. ::The corner of his mouth twitched, though it wasn't in a smile.:: They're still limited, though.

Ross: Admiral— ::it still sounded strange, coming from his lips,:: —I'd recommend we go to Yellow Alert, given the circumstances.

::Not a bad idea, Ma No Umi was sure to prove dangerous, Yellow Alert may just save their lives when everything hit the fan.::

Reynolds: Alright. Yellow alert, and put the shields up.

::Tasha’s eyes flicked to her console, looking closely at the shield status, and various power readouts flowing across her screens. Various systems came to different states of readiness upon moving to Yellow Alert, and that caused all sorts of shifts in other places. Thankfully everything seemed to remain steady.::

Johns: Cae--Commander Nkai said something about Commander Reynolds attempting a workaround to make the two deflector dish millicochrane static fields to work together, but they weren't designed to. ::He paused, while his dark eyebrows lifted and lowered.:: But then again, she has done the impossible before.

::Tasha smiled to herself, both of the Reynolds’ had been engineers in the past, of course Erin could do the impossible, that was an engineers bread and butter.::

Reynolds: Let's hope she can work a miracle again. In the meantime, I'm open to any other suggestions.

::There were a few moments of silence on the bridge. Tasha kept her eyes on her console, adjusting systems here and there, pushing them to their peaks, and ensuring power held steady. She knew there were people down in Engineering doing that too, but many hands made light work, and Tasha really wanted to be in Engineering right now. She was distracted a moment later as Johns suggested something.::

Johns: What about a disguised probe? It might extend the range a little further and give us something to bounce our signals from.

::That wasn’t a bad idea. The probe would need to be careful of the plasma storms, and it wouldn’t be able to stray too far from the Gorkon, but it would certainly be an asset.::

Reynolds: I like it. How far ahead of us will it be able to scout, with the limitations on communications?

MacFarlane: It will need to remain within the range of our short range communications. With the area affecting the probe as its affecting us...the probe should be able to effectively double the range of our short range sensors.

Johns: Response

Reynolds: What sort of disguise?

MacFarlane: It’s unlikely that they will visually spy our probe, too small. All we’ll need to do is adjust its transponder to a non-federation signal.

Johns: Response

((A few hours later…))

::It was difficult to get a clear picture at this range, but they had certainly found a ship. Its hull was dark and bulbous, very different to the clean, elegant lines of a Federation vessel. It could be the vessel they were looking for. From the information they had been given it seemed likely that this was the one they wanted.::

Reynolds: There it is. What information can we get at this distance?

MacFarlane: Not much more than what we’re seeing on the screen sir. Size matches what we expect of our target.

Johns/Reynolds/Ross: Response

::Her eyes flicked to her console. Everything was reading normal on the Gorkon, and what little she was getting from the vessel they had spotted also looked normal.::

MacFarlane: No indication they’ve spotted us yet Captain.  We could send the probe in for a closer look at them.

Johns/Reynolds/Ross: Response

MacFarlane: It has taken a bit of a beating from the storms, but appears to still be operating within acceptable parameters. With a little bit of luck and a fair amount of skill we should be able to get a positive identity for the vessel once the probe is closer.

Johns/Reynolds/Ross: Response
