Ayiana "Red" Sevo - Through the Curtain

:: This was getting beyond weird. They were trying to reach the quarters on the Skarbek where Quinn, their Starfleet captive, had been assaulted, but reality decided to pull a 180 on them instead. Exiting the lift, Ayiana and her team found themselves in the Symbiont caves on Trill, instead of the dingy corridor of the Skarbek. Before they could even wrap their minds around it, a pack of armor-clad *unicorns*, no less, appeared down one passage. Each had their name artfully etched on their armor. Ayiana was currently staring into the surprisingly-intelligent eye of Serenity. ::
Smith: Well what do we do?
:: Ayiana petted the animal, feeling calm and...well...serene. Did these animals just appear for no reason, or was there something in their minds that spawned them? ::
Sevo: I...don’t know. Guys?
Lanta: Don’t ask me
:: Ayiana looked into the eye of Serenity, as she continued to pet her. Somehow, it felt like the animal was looking back at her with extreme intelligence. ::
Sevo: And what about you, hmm? What do you think we should do?
:: She wasn’t asking the unicorn seriously; just idle talk while she mulled the situation over in her mind. But the animal must have understood her, as Serenity immediately stood up and turned around. The other three did the same; the slight clacking of their armor emanated from them as they moved. Serenity craned her neck behind to look at Ayiana, then cocked it slightly. Was it asking them to follow? ::
Sevo: Um...I guess we follow the unicorns.
Neathler: You think that's a wise thing to do? :: Her previous encounter in the other cave made her suspicious towards any animal that turned up out of thin air. ::
Lanta: I’m not sure about anything anymore
:: The herd of unicorns moved slowly down the cave path; fast enough for Ayiana and her group to walk at a comfortable pace. ::
Sevo: Stars, once Sparks hears about this, we’re never going to hear the end of it.
:: They followed the majestic creatures for a few minutes, following a path through the catacombs of tunnels only the unicorns seemed to know. Eventually, they stopped. Ayiana moved forward in front of them to see what was going on, only to discover a massive, seemingly bottomless chasm in front of them. ::
Neathler: Now what?
Lanta:Turn back?
Smith: No, not a wise decision. The unicorns led us here. There must be a reason. I know it sounds daft but why else would they have stopped and gestured for us to follow.
Sevo: I don’t know what is considered too daft anymore.
Neathler: There's no way back to the cave anymore.
:: Ayiana whipped her head around to confirm, and sure enough, the passage they just came through was gone, replaced by a solid wall of rock. ::
Lanta: Well the choices are we stay here or we try to go forward
Sevo: Forward.
Smith: Really Red. Is that safe?
Lanta: ::muttering:: I wonder.
Smith: Shut it sticks. I was asking a question.
:: Suddenly, Sticks moved to climb onto one of the unicorns. He wasn’t going to try what she thought he was, right? Sure enough, as soon as Sticks was secure on the animal’s back, it took off at quite a speed, making a clean jump across the chasm. ::
Smith: Umm.. ::Groznin was in amazement.::
Sevo: Well, then...
Lanta: Looks like this is the way across guys
Neathler: Really? You want me to climb one of those?
Smith: You’ll be fine Samira. As will the Unicorn. Now quickly your missing out on all the fun.
Lanta: Response
:: Shrugging her shoulders, Ayiana climbed on Serenity, and grabbed her reins. Moments later, Serenity took off at a decent speed and quickly jumped the chasm with little effort. It whipped back around to look across the chasm, where Newbie and Kid were still standing. After some hesitation, the pair hopped up on a unicorn and made the jump. ::
Sevo: Wasn’t too bad, was it?
:: Suddenly, the quartet of unicorns started trotting forward again, with their riders on their backs. After several minutes, a thundering sound came echoing down the tunnel. Turning a corner, Ayiana finally saw what was making the noise - a massive waterfall blocking the mouth of the tunnel. She could feel stray droplets of water fall on her as they approached. ::
Smith: what’s this waterfall doing here?
Sevo: I’ve given up on asking rational questions at this point.
Lanta: Response
::The waterfall was gushing with water. You couldn’t see what was behind it without going through it, but it looked far to dangerous to walk through. A small wooden bridge extended from just in front of them through the waterfall to whatever was on the other side. Groznin looked over at Red and shrugged his shoulders .::
Smith: I know we’ve all been asking this a lot recently but where are we. And what do we do?
Lanta/Nethlear: ?
Sevo: Move forward. Nothing else *to* do.
::Groznin was about to reply, but Thunder started to move forward::
Smith: erghh... Guys.
::Thunder walked up to the wooden bridge that started to creak as him and the unicorn moved over it and they walked through the waterfall, to the other side. Ayiana and Serenity followed. Ayiana was drenched in water as she passed underneath the waterfall. It was extremely cold; possibly running from a mountain spring or snowpack. Her sight blurred under the downpour of water, but soon dissipated as she passed through. Once they were through the waterfall, Ayiana looked around to see where she was. ::
:: They were back on the Skarbek; in the crew quarters corridor; Kid was already there, also confused. What’s more, Ayiana found herself completely dry. The waterfall was still pouring down the corridor behind them, and Sticks and Newbie soon trotted through. Once they had all crossed, the waterfall disappeared, to be replaced with the normal, grungy interior of the Skarbek. The unicorns, however, remained. ::
Sevo: Well, we’re here.
:: Ayiana gestured to the door to the left - it was the room where Quinn was being held. ::
Lanta/Nethlear/Smith: Response
:: Serenity kneeled down to let Ayiana off easier. She patted the creature gently on the nose. ::
Sevo: Thank you.
:: It made a quiet sound in reply. ::
Lanta/Nethlear/Smith: Response
:: Ayiana tapped at the controls to the door, quickly opening them. ::
Sevo: Onwards, my fellow knights.
Lanta/Nethlear/Smith: Response
