:: The slow climb back to consciousness consisted of muffled sounds in a sea of darkness. The unintelligible sounds gave way to sentient-esque voices, and she could start to hear beeps and hums. Her eyes slowly opened from a pinprick of blinding white light into a conglomeration of patchy colors. As her eyesight returned, she could make out the vague form of a trilliod figure staring back at her. The nondescript sounds and ringing in her ears gave way to distinct voices, beeps, and footsteps. ::

:: Ayiana managed to sit up in the biobed, making sure the sheet still covered her chest, as apparently there was nothing else beneath it. ::

Sevo: Ugh. W-what happened? :: She placed a hand on her head, trying in vain to quench the throbbing headache. ::

Red Elk: You were shot in the lower back by a phaser blast.

Sevo: Ph-phaser blast? To the back?

Red Elk: Down on the planet.

:: It finally dawned on her, and the rage inside of Ayiana nearly exploded. ::

Sevo: SHE SHOT ME! THAT GREEN-SKINNED BITCH SHOT ME!

Red Elk: Yes, the bitch shot you in the back.  ::She briefly laid a hand across the commanders stomach before she stood.::  And you’re damn lucky she didn’t shoot you in the front.  The symbiont wouldn’t have survived.

:: It seemed like it was becoming a common occurence - being shot in or near the pouch. Sure, someone could shoot her arm, but that wouldn’t be dangerous now, would it? Red Elk poured her a glass of water from a pitcher, then tugged the blanket a little higher up as it had slipped a bit.  ::

Red Elk: Drink this.

::She picked up a pile of clothing from the same table that held the pitcher.::

Red Elk: I snuck into your quarters, I figured you would rather have your own clothing than a paper gown.

:: Ayiana wasn’t sure what to think. Going into her quarters? It was an emergency, she supposed, so Red Elk had good reason to go in there. But couldn’t she have just replicated some generic uniform here? ::

Sevo: Oh..um...no problem. Hope Tana didn’t give you trouble. She’s a bit protective.

Red Elk: Need help changing?  You look pretty groggy…

:: Truth be told, Ayiana was perfectly comfortable. In the privacy of her own quarters she was more…”fluid” in her choice of apparel. ::

Sevo: Ungh. Yea. Might be a good idea. Thanks.

:: After being discharged and getting a good talking-to about light duty for the next few days, Ayiana made her way to her quarters. It shouldn’t be difficult. She had a ton of after-mission paperwork to fill out. ::
