Cmdr Alex Blair & LtCmdr Chythar Skyfire: Dinner Before the Tea Party Part I

::The butterflies in Alex’s stomach were definitely fluttering. He had spent the entire morning getting boring evaluations finished so he could meet up with Chythar a day early and now as he stood beside a large reflection pool, Alex was nervous.::
Blair: oO Pull yourself together! It’s Chythar, you’ve spent hours and hours with him. Just because this is a date doesn’t change anything! Oo
::After mentally berating himself Alex looked at his watch again. After confirming that it was the right time, Alex looked up to see Skyfire walking his way.::
Blair: ::smiling:: Well, well, well..look what the cat dragged in.
::CD was wearing his dark green semi-formal shirt, black pants, and his boots mostly because formal shoes didn’t feel right on him. As he took in the sights, he enjoyed the atmosphere surrounding them: vibrant and full of music. He’d done the physical, and still needed to get in touch with Alucard about his hearing, which seemed fine now that the inflammation had gone down. He also took since he got back the night before up until now doing boring paperwork and evaluations, physicals and the like.::
Skyfire: Alex!
::Alex started laughing and as Skyfire got close enough Alex reached out and hugged him.::
Blair: It’s great to see you, I feel like it’s been forever!
Skyfire: ::returning the embrace:: It’s only been a few days, mate.
Blair: So, any ideas on what you want to do tonight?
Skyfire: Whatever you want to do, Alex. Ah chose the last time, remember?
::Alex smiled. He remembered Skyfire saying something like that the day before when they made plans to meet up.::
Blair: Okay, okay I get it, it’s my turn to choose.
Skyfire: Yep.
::Alex lightly laughed. He had actually taken some time earlier in the day to plan out their evening so he was prepared.::
Blair: I’ve actually made arrangements for us to eat at this really old place from the twentieth century called Acquerello. They’ve been making Italian food for centuries and I can tell you from experience that they are one of the finest restaurants in the Bay area.
::Italian was, indeed, one of Chythar’s favorite cuisines. He didn’t speak Italian, by any stretch of the imagination, but he did enjoy a good lasagna. CD’s mind kept drifting back to the conversation the night before. Desperation to talk, to see him sooner...perhaps it was a sign. Something Chris had told him once: you’d never know unless you ask. As they started heading to this fine restaurant, it seemed as good a time as any..::
Skyfire: Alex...about last night…
::Alex had been dreading this moment. He knew that calling Chythar so soon was a mistake, but he couldn’t stop himself. It was time for Alex to admit to his desperation and take whatever Chythar threw at him.::
Blair: Yeah...sorry about that. I know it was too soon, I just wanted to talk to you...
Skyfire: When you called me from the kayak, Ah kept thinking that perhaps you’d hurt yourself until you told me you hadn’t. Then Ah got to thinkin’ about what would happen. Like what the future would hold. Besides, we both said we wanted it to last, right?
::Alex was immediately relieved to hear that his desperation hadn’t chased Chythar away.::
Blair: Yeah, whatever this is I don’t...
Skyfire: Just hold that thought for a moment, mate.
::He stopped in his tracks, then turned to face Alex. It was all or nothing, and he took a breath before making his move and gave the mission specialist a full kiss. In that moment, it was like the rest of the world faded away. It was like magic, a sudden rush of happiness he hadn’t felt before. Any of the previous names which came to mind could not compare to this moment.::
::For a moment as they kissed, everything faded away. As they pulled apart, Alex felt momentary euphoria. This was far from his first first kiss, but something about his one was different from every other one. Alex stood there motionless for a long moment.::
Blair: Wow….uh...wow…
Stripey: oO You blew it. Oo
Skyfire: oO Shut up. Oo Ah made a mess of things, didn’t Ah?
Blair: No not that at all. It was...great. Actually I’ve never experienced anything quite like that.
Skyfire: Me either...wow...
::Alex took another moment to compose himself. He had never been caught off guard by something as simple as a kiss before and Alex felt out of his element. Eager to return to a somewhat normal feeling Alex leaned forward and pulled Chythar in for another kiss.This time lasting just a little bit longer.::
::Before he could respond, he was once again kissing Alex. This time, he wasn’t the initiator, but damn did it feel good.::
Blair: Sorry, I had to see if it had the same effect the second time. ::pause:: Don’t worry, it did.
Skyfire: Whew...for a moment Ah thought maybe it wasn’t meant to be.
::Alex smiled at Chythar. Suddenly any nerves he had been feeling earlier were gone and everything felt just right again.::
Blair: So, as much as I’d like to stand here kissing you all night, I am pretty hungry. Ready to head to dinner?
Skyfire: Dinner! Right. We had reservations, didn’t we…? ::and motioned for Alex to lead on.::
::Alex started walking. Chythar followed suit, falling in step with him after five paces.::
Blair: Follow me, it not really that far so we can walk there.
Skyfire: Sounds good to me.
