::Finishing up the remnants of the paperwork she'd unwittingly started in the morning after the Admiral decided to give half her staff a heart attack, Jo slumped back into the chair and ran her hand through her hair. The day had not gone as planned - with the offer from the Admiral to take up the task of the First Officer, and Jo's acceptance without hesitation, everything seemed to flow a little differently. Concentrating her efforts on leaving the department for Caedan, with the least amount of work for Rodulan to do while recovering from his medical trauma, seemed to be a monumental job.

::Her mind wasn't in it, and she knew it. Instead, it was however many decks away, revolving around someone else. Grabbing her PADD, she tapped out a quick message.::

Marshall: =/\= Can I steal you for dinner tonight? =/\=

::The reply was swift in timing and short in nature, no doubt tapped out almost immediately upon receipt of hers.::

E. Reynolds: =/\= Always. =/\=

::Smiling at the response, and following the Admiral’s parting advice from their morning meeting, Jo replied with a quick message of her own.::

Marshall: =/\= Meet you at mine? You can help me pack, if you like. =/\=

::There was a long pause before an answer popped onto the screen, several minutes ticking past before the words lit up on the glossy black screen of the PADD.::

E. Reynolds: =/\= I'm on my way. =/\=

::Taking that as her cue to move, Jo grabbed her jacket off the back of the chair and was heading out the door, tapping in a response.::

Marshall: =/\= Same. =/\=

((Corridors))

::When Jo arrived, Erin was already there, pacing back and forth in front of her doorway. When she set eyes on the Gorkon's new First Officer, she blurted out the question that had so obviously been sat on her mind since their exchange of messages, worry pulling at her brow.::

E. Reynolds: Why are you packing?

Marshall: You know, you’ll wear out the carpet eventually.

::The words were said with a grin on Jo’s face and an arch of her eyebrow as she pressed the control for the door, indicating inside with a tilt of her head. The lights rose, illuminating the darkened space, casting the warm glow on the boxes she’d ordered already within. Jo breathed a sigh of relief walking inside, then ran her hand over her face and turned to the woman she adored, worry evident on Erin’s features.

::The door swished to a close behind them. Finally home.::

Marshall: The Admiral’s asked me to step into the First officer’s boots.

::Erin blinked, staring in a mix of wide-eyed relief and amazement, until a smile broke and she rushed forward, wrapping her arms around her partner in a tight hug with a small sound of glee.::

E. Reynolds: That's... I'm so pleased for you! ::She paused, then leaned back a little to look Jo in the eyes.:: You are pleased, right?

Marshall: Bewildered, I think. ::She smiled, clasping her hands together at the small of Erin’s back.:: I accepted it, then she told me to get new quarters. Hence the packing. ::Her bottom lip drew between her teeth.:: How do you feel about it?

E. Reynolds: Delighted. Proud. ::She smiled, eyes sparkling as they reflected her words.:: Hey, does this mean I get to turn the tables and call *you* Sir?

::Jo looked up at the ceiling and playfully exhaled deeply, as though the thought required much deliberation, then leaned forward and kissed her partner’s forehead, eliciting a chuckle in response.::

Marshall: Only if you have to. I’ve spent most of my career calling you “sir”. ::She smiled at the memory it sparked.:: And Doctor, and Lieutenant, and Commander…

E. Reynolds: Some people collect stamps, I collect titles. ::She grinned.::

Marshall: And plants. You forgot plants.

E. Reynolds: And plants. ::She continued smiling, hazel eyes sparkling, her delight in her partner's success genuine and obvious.:: So... you realise this means we'll be spending most of our time in your new, swanky quarters, right?

::”Swanky” didn’t seem to fit the mental image Jo had in her mind of any place she lived, especially with an ebony bike propped up in one corner, usually with half of its guts hanging out. However, the question prompted a thought that had been roaming around in her head. Jo dropped her hands to Erin's waist and caught her eyes, a question of her own swimming.::

Marshall: What do you think about… moving in?
