::With a gentle nudge that could have been a swift kick gone wrong, Bear attempted to rouse the dozing Romulan from her fitful dream state. She jerked awake, flat with a somnolent haze of confusion, staring at the blond until reality saw fit to slap her fully lucid. A sigh followed, and she rubbed a hand over her face while he spoke.::

O. Marshall: We're getting closer now. Take a look.

::A last vestige of the good old days of space piracy, the outpost was nothing to comm home about. Based on a moon that could have easily been mistaken for a small asteroid revolving around a clearly uninhabited planet, one large spire with flashing lights at the tip jutted out into space. The outpost itself, beneath a visible dome, looked as though several starships had managed to slam into it at some point, become lodged in the crust, and decided to stay there.

::What made it all the more disconcerting were the amount of small vessels and shuttlecraft heading to and from the moon. With a heavy thunk, they were locked into a confinement beam and the slow process of controlled tractor energy started to draw their ship toward the docking ring.::

O. Marshall: I haven't been here for a while.

Sienelis: What a hardship.

O. Marshall: Just keep your wits about you.

::A salient point, considering what they were there for. It didn't take long for the tractor beam to take them through the atmosphere and they were then left to use the power of their engines to near the surface. The shuttle came down and landed at the end of a stretch of a mile long constructed concourse leading up to the outpost's main buildings.

::Frown on his face that looked as though it might become a permanent fixture, Bear patted the phaser that was tucked in beside his ribs as a measure of reassurement. Taking a swift glance to their left, he noticed that they were the last in a row of craft that were almost definitely pirate in design, if not completely in origin.::

Sienelis: Don't exactly blend in, do we? ::She said, following the line of his gaze.:: What's next?

O. Marshall: Imagine if we'd stolen a Federation shuttle. ::He cocked an eyebrow at her with a slight roll of the eyes, and she smirked back at him.:: We head in there and see if our contacts are in. As to who that is, I have no idea.

::Valesha leaned away from him, her expression immediately souring. Was this how all covert operations were conducted, or just theirs? Reynolds said she'd put it together in record time, but right in that moment, it felt as though there was nothing there at all. It was terrifying, flying so blind, with her life in other people's hands.::

Sienelis: I'm brimming with confidence.

O. Marshall: Positively glowing.

::Bear took a breath and tapped his disquiet on the cockpit overhead canopy through the drumming of fingers. Even being there a handful of times hadn't stopped any amount of nervousness in his body from leaping forth - that was just common sense in a place where they didn't sell you a drink unless you were openly carrying something to defend yourself. Chewing around on that nugget, he glanced back into the shuttle, then down to Valesha.::

O. Marshall: You're going to need something to shoot or stab with. Not me. Just in case.

::She pushed herself out of her chair, squeezing through the narrow walkway to head back toward the tiny cabin and the replicator it housed. How easy it would be to get the requested weapons would depend entirely on whether MacFarlane had decided to program restrictions into the device.::

Sienelis: You say that, but the Admiral did give me permission.

O. Marshall: Oh, did she now? ::An incredulous look crossed his face.:: Whatever happened to bodily autonomy.

::There was a snort, followed by a series of quiet hums as the replicator spat out the Romulan's order without complaint. A minute or so later and she jostled back through into the main cockpit, adjusting the jacket under which a phaser was now situated.::

Sienelis: Anything else I should know or do before we set out?

O. Marshall: If anyone says, “My friend doesn’t like you.” Don’t fall for it. They’re trying to goad you into a fight. Every pirate could be someone’s aunt or uncle.

::Her scathing look said everything, and she rapped a knuckle against the transparent cockpit. Plunging forward into the unknown was often a thrill, but there was a distinct sense of dread that came with this particular... "adventure". It wasn't on her own terms, and it wasn't by her own choice that she was here, and the idea of being reliant on Marshall was making her gut churn.::

Sienelis: Can we just get this over with?

O. Marshall: Believe me, kid… ::He depressed the control for the canopy, heard the noise as it retracted.:: I’d like nothing more.
