(( Skyfire’s Quarters -- USS Gorkon))

::They had decided to use the same space, the old Vulcan once again took up an end of the couch. Chythar followed suit, assuming a half-lotus as before. Also as before, the doctor was a bit tense. The last few days had been a strain, but the calm in his mind was a welcome reprieve from the stress.::

Selamderen: You won’t believe what happens in some of the quiet places of this ship::The tone was typically dry and not a hint of what he meant in his mannerism, but just the comment was one of familiarity with the officer.::

::Some people thought the doc was crackers for having an overactive imagination. Given what he’d seen during his academy days, and even before that, during his days at UW, he had seen some pretty weird things. Ranging anywhere from doorknob trophies to a bit of forbidden physical pleasure in public, he’d seen things there was no way to unsee.::

Skyfire: I have a pretty good idea.

::The Vulcan crossed his legs and started to relax. Just getting away was nice. He closed his eyes and started on his deep breathing. Trying to put everything out of his mind a stray thought came across.::

Selamderen: ~Wonder if he plays chess?~

Skyfire: ~And Kal’toh also.~

::The Vulcan raised a eyebrow for a moment, but was pleased that the mental abilities seemed to be intact. He then closed his eyes and started to let everything fade into the background. The ever present ‘hum’ acting as a foreshadowing only quicken the pace of him totally relaxing.::

::Chythar’s muscles once again relaxed as he exhaled, allowing him to breathe the tension out of his body. It didn’t take nearly as long for him to relax this time, though it did take a few minutes extra before he gave the nod of his readiness for the meld.::

::The Vulcan sensed the readiness and reached out with his hand and placing it again on his forehead and the meld came much quicker this time due to the pre-existing connection formed only days before. He could now read the now familiar thoughts, experiences and feeling of the officer. He could feel that his own mind had melded quickly as well.::

::He could now mentally see a more stable environment as their thoughts started to intertwine again. What once appeared as a castle of burning flames now appeared as sturdy as any medieval stronghold before a siege, with no fire or flames.::

::Selamderen remembered his daily mental exercises that had formed the bedrock of platform of his mental abilities. He was impressed at the change had wanted to let him dive deep into years of training for strength.::

::CD once again took an exploratory dive into the depths of Selamderen’s mind to harvest the rich bounty of mental disciplinary principles. His muscles relaxed, his hands clenched and relaxed repeatedly as his way of coping with the strong Vulcan emotions, however deeply repressed they were. As the exploration continued, the mental discipline began to reinforce what was already present.::

::The old Vulcan could see that the young officer was taking full advantage of his memories and experiences. He tried to now focus on the early Vulcan training that mentally assisted him as a young boy to repress his emotions.::

::He remembered the death of his old brother and the nearly traumatic experience when he was very young and his father.  He also shared his mind meld experiences with other Vulcans, linking him to some of the most disciplined minds on the home world.::

::As the influx of images of other Vulcans poured into Sel’s thoughts, Chythar clenched his fists tightly. The tension was starting to rise again as he winced from the powerful overload. Vulcan emotions were a lot stronger than those of a human, and the intricate web being woven was enough to break his concentration, almost enough to trigger an episode of respiratory difficulty.::

::Selamderen felt the overload and took his hand away from his forehead. He sat there for a few minutes as he was sure that CD would need that time to rest and relax.::

Selamderan ~ Too much. Forgive an old Vulcan.~

::He winced a few times and tried to regain his breathing. His muscles were tensed, his heart was racing, and he had no desire to inflict injury on anyone. Especially on this guy, who was helping him.::

Skyfire: ~You’re...you’re forgiven...Perhaps we should...end it here..…~ :: and proceeded to un-pretzel himself from the half-lotus position. ::

Selamderan: ~You are doing  well. Slower next time, if you wish. We should take a least a day or two before any more.~

Skyfire: ~Agreed…~

::Selamderan opened his eyes and saw the anger in him. He had moved too quickly. He would be more careful next time. He was sure that CD would find his plateau and be at ease with it.::

::Once the Vulcan left the room, he wound up punching the table. This time, hard enough to break something. The pain was indistinguishable from the anger and other emotions he was feeling, so he didn’t notice the first drops of blood from the broken hand.::
