Buying a gift certificate with Google Checkout

The site I'm working on offers gift certificate purchases, but for some reason, gift certificates do not get generated when using Google Checkout as a payment method. I've tested it with the Dummy Payment Module and they are getting generated properly.

Any suggestions?
