Image processing guru?

Hey geeks,

I'm researching an idea, and I could use the advice of someone who knows image processing, current state of the art, latest research, projects etc. I'm not sure exactly what I need (which is why I'm seeking a guru) but it's along the lines of color analysis, facial recognition, saliency, OCR.

If you are said guru, or you know someone who claims that status, and you'd like some consulting work, drop me a note.
