Hello, Geeks Group... from miles away.

I'm in Dublin, Ireland this month coaching 70 Masters students through a 10-week, practical project course where they use innovation/design-thinking skills to guide their progress.

One team, made of 4 part-time students who work full-time in various municipal governments around Ireland, is taking a look at their B2G data (non-financial... more about resources, waste streams or utilities) - - currently collected via spreadsheets, horrors - - and thinking about improving that situation with XML schema or XBRL.

This week they are in the initial benchmark-and-talk-to-experts stage... and I'm wondering if there's anyone in this group with an understanding of how business data is collected by the government there in CA. It would be great for them to Skype with someone for 20 min, even, to get an understanding of what's happening these days.
