I've been playing with a flick style input keyboard using QML. The prototype uses flick-style input and gives easy access to two character without the use of a Shift-key.
It also allows for single-handed use without cramming my screen with the full character set (like Google's Indic input), and provides access to Roman characters with a
simple Shift latch (rather than by slowly switching keyboards). Please check out (and screenshots therein).
