You will need a series of regular expression replacements - just one won't do. if you are using some special software, perhaps +sanskrit-programmers (esp anunad) might help.

Only 'simple text replacement' will do here. No need of regular expressions.

This tool is good for Chrome if you can write a Regular expression for this find/replace.It does work in Gmail as well as on the web for single pair but can't replace multi pair characters at once.

I am not able to make out what you mean. Can you explain with
examples? What is meant by 'multi pair characters' ?

...I get this box in upper right hand corner which allows me to replace one diacritic at a time in typed text by selecting Input fields only? Each entry gives gives one replacement. Regular Expression may allow all replacements but I don't know how to write. You may download this app and see what you can do to make it useful.

Here 'aa' is a pair of two letters which I want to replace with one diacritic letter ā and so on for other pair of letters.
