बहुव्रीहिसमासे रुक्मिणी दाराः यस्य सः, श्रीरुक्मिणीदारः, तं श्रीरुक्मिणीदारम् इति भवितुमर्हति इति मन्ये। दाराशब्दः टाबन्तोsपीति रामाश्रमी तदा दारामिति स्यात्, बहुव्रीहिसमासे श्रीरुक्मिणीदारमित्येव।

Can you please share the verse and the context where the usage occurs?

It is in a musical composition (not a verse) of Dikshitar which goes चेतः श्रीबालकृष्णं भज रे
A few lines down, one of the adjectives is the one in discussion.

All other words in the accusative are adjectives and qualifiers to श्रीबालकृष्णं - ---

शीतल  हृदय विहारम् श्री  रुक्मिणी दारम्

As it is typed it is confusingly as दारम् is detached from श्री and रुक्मिणी. It should be a बहुव्रीहि compound and in normal printing in Devanagari script words in a compound are not separated with space like श्रीबालकृष्णं.

Naresh,

Why the question marks and other Latin characters mixed in with the Devanagari?

The text already has the ka interrogatives.

And the ?'s should be daṇḍa, surely?

The apostrophes -  iti

You see, I have to transliterate Devanagari, then padaviccheda then translate...

...but the transliteration software gets confused.

Thankfully, those who understood and answered the question had no such confusion.

I have come across the following having been used wherein the दीर्घ अ has been shortened.

पुष्पमाल धराम्
शशिकलधराम्
महासेनगुरुं वन्दे

I also remember seeing in Valmiki Ramayana - I do not remember fully:
ससीतं रामम्

Dr Bhat : रुक्मिणी दाराः यस्य सः, श्रीरुक्मिणीदारः

Sri Nareshji: बहुव्रीहिः खल्वत्र ! हन्त ! नाभिज्ञातमेव ।
भट्टाः, कृतज्ञोऽस्मि ।

This reminds Sri Subrahmanyanji sahaseetam (seetaa > seeta)

Sri Murthyji gives the full verse.
