Next line I forgot..

No idea whether the above is correct version. But I can't see it is correct for Sanskrit. If it is correct, can you give the meaning you got from it? I could not get any meaningful sentence.

Mahasubhashita Sangraha contains a subhashita having this line with some changes.

०१४४-१ अक्षिपक्ष्म कदा लुप्तं छिद्यन्ते हि शिरोरुहाः ।
०१४४-२ वर्धमानात्मनामेव भवन्ति हि विपत्तयः ।।

Meaning is something like this:

The hair of eyelid ( अक्षिपक्ष्म).doesnot grow.(कदा लुप्तं)

Whereas the hairs on head keeps growing( शिरोरुहाः), hence it is cut again & again whenever it grows(छिद्यन्ते हि).

Similarly when some one grows himself towards improvisation,(वर्धमानात्मनामेव) definitely he has to face a lot of vipattis/obstacles. ie., Obstacles are certain when someone grows in life.

Dear Learned members,

Once in a while, I go thru the old posts in detail, it is instructive and enlightening.

This thread demonstrated the amazing quality of this group to help members.

To summarize,

   The query to begin with was like searching a needle in a haystack.

   Having come across something akin to the query, the correct subhashita was posted

   Then the meaning too was explained.

   All this within five days of the query being posted.

It is really heartening to see a group helping its members in this fashion.

The replies and the guidance by members like Dr. Bhat, Shri Aravind Kolhatkar Ji  and Shri Sunder Hattangadi Ji ( and here are many many  more learned members-whom I respect, ) are always a treat to go through. At times, excellent links are posted by the learned members, which are very useful.

Of course, we are definitely fortunate to be in this group.   But still more is expected from this group.   That is, I wish more people may exchange their queries and replies in Sanskrit language only instead of English, so that we can develop our  knowledge in it.
