Dear kolhat...@gmail.com
It is not saarangapani, as is misspelt in Tamil.  It is shArngapANi.  Refer vishnusahasranama - shArngadhanvaa gadhAdharah. rathANgapANirakshobhyah sarvapraharaNAyudhah.
Regards

Dear All,

Greetings and Namaste.

As *Vaikuntha Ekadashi* falls on *Sunday (08-Jan-2017*), I am happy to
attach a rare *Kavacham* on *Lord Vishnu* by *Lord Krishna* and retold to *Lord
Brahma* by *Yoganidra*. This is taken from *Brahma Vaivarta Puranam,
Krishna Janma Khanda, Chapter* *12* titled *Shakatasura Bhanjana*.

The sanctity of this kavacham can be seen by the elaborate *phalashruti*
(which is lengthier than the hymn itself)! It mentions that *Goddess Durga
defeated Shumbha and Raktabija and Lord Shiva destroyed Tripura by chanting
this hymn*. It is also given that one who recites this kavacham never gets
afflicted by any fear.

May We seek the protection of all our deeds by Lord Narayana in this new
year 2017 through this sacred hymn!

Mantras initiated by one's guru should never be disclosed openly. The
mantra-chaitanya gets depleted. the mantra shastra clearly says so.

Now-a-days, the so-called self-styled modern gurus initiate every tom, dick
& harry indiscriminately without following shastra and sampradaya.

Currently, a self-styled swamiji (name withheld) is initiating his gullible
disciples with chaNDi-navAkSari mUla mantra with online registrations and
demanding guru dakshina thru
PAYTMs and credit cards. He is also offering early bird discounts !

हत विधि !

Sarangapani is the Tamil tatbhava for शार्ङ्गपाणि. Though सारङ्ग refers to deer, the name सारङ्गपाणि for Siva is not seen commonly.

There are regional variations and different transliteration conventions. Writing in Roman Script Srikanth – a Tamilian takes it as श्रीकान्त and for a North Indian it is श्रीकण्ठ.  The very first अक्षर – अ – has different pronunciations across the sub-continent – It is Aravinda for a Tamilian, Arvind (schwa) for a North Indian and Aurobindo for a Bengali.

To repeat, Sarangapani is the method of writing शार्ङ्गपाणि for a Tamilian and for him it is the right way. Just as दोशी and दोषी are transliterated (and probably pronounced) as Doshi by a section of people, शार्ङ्गपाणि as well as सारङ्गपाणि are pronounced alike by Tamilians.
