Charama sloka normally specifies year and date of death. The third pada does not meet prosodic requirements.

Murthy

(1) Since Mr. Murthy has rightly pointed out prosody-problem with the last line, would नमः श्रीकलामात्मने be a good substitute for the last line ?
(2) Can the श्लोक be called श्रद्धांजलिः instead of चरमश्लोकः
  • चरमश्लोकः would literally mean last verse. People can keep writing about श्री. कलाम. So this verse need not be the last verse.
(3) Whether in श्रीकलामात्मने or श्रीअब्दुलात्मने the letter श्री stands for श्रीमत् or श्रीयुत् and is a part of a compound word. Hence it should be written jointed, not separate.
