The 8th gana of dhatus तनादि गणः

Question:

The Dhatus तन् and  तर्ण्

How come their iii/3 लट् कर्त्तरि forms are different?

Dhatu   Anga    iii/1        iii/2       iii/3

तन्       तनु       तनोति    तनुतः    तन्वन्ति

                                               But

तर्ण्       तर्णु      तर्णोति    तर्णुतः    तर्णुवन्ति

                                                From where उवङ् आदेँशः has come?
