Hi I am having difficulty installing sage on my computer.
I use Mac 10.10.4.
I downloaded sage-6.9-x86_64-Darwin-OSX_10.10_x86_64.dmg, and
I have followed the read.me instruction up to

" 4) Select to run it with "Terminal":"

Then, I got
>>

students-MacBook-Pro:~ student$ /Users/student/sage/sage/sage

This probably occurred because a *compiled* component of Sage has a bug

in it and is not properly wrapped with sig_on(), sig_off().

Sage will now terminate.

Then, I do not know where I should go in order to "choose application" when it says,

>Choose Applications, then select "All Applications" in the

 >    "Enable:" drop down.  Change the "Applications" drop down

  >   to "Utilities".  On the left, scroll and select "Terminal".

   >  Click "Open", then in the next dialog select "Update".

Where can I find the "choose application", or

was there anything else wrong with this installation?

Thank you for your help.

Isaac

It is most probably a half-broken binary - it was not built to run on the hardware you have.
Do you have a reason not to use the latest Sage version?

Thank you for the answer. Now, as you gave me the advise, I downloaded Sage-7.2 beta0, and did the same thing up to

3) Use finder to visit the sage folder you just copied it and double click on the "sage" icon.
and
4) Select to run it with "Terminal":

Again, where and how I can "Choose Applications, then select "All Applications"?

Following is the output I got, then I do not know where to go.

students-MacBook-Pro:~ student$ /Volumes/sage-7.2.beta0-OSX_10.11.4-x86_64/SageMath/sage ; exit;

Don't use the stuff inside the dmg image.
Once you have downloaded the .dmg, open it,
copy the Sage app to your Applications folder.
Then eject the dmg image, and run Sage from
the app in your Applications folder.
