Hi John!

Try searching your PC for a reminderfox.ics file.  If there is a file that is not in your ReminderFox file location, then hopefully this will contain your old reminders.

You can find your ReminderFox file location by opening the ReminderFox Options, and then going to the File tab.

Once you've found the reminderfox.ics file, you can open the file with Notepad to check it, and if it looks okay, move it to the ReminderFox file location or import it using the <Import> button on the File tab.  When asked whether you want to Add or Overwrite, choose Add.  If you move the file, make sure you close Firefox or Thunderbird first.

If you rely on ReminderFox then you should be backing up your data.  If all you rely on is your ReminderFox data, then you just need to back up the ReminderFox file location discussed above.  Another option is to back up your complete Firefox or Thunderbird profile.  See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup for information about this.

How do I restore the pink ribbon (reminder fox) at the bottom of the page?  I inadvertently removed it.

Hi!

If you can't see the File, Edit, View etc. menus in Firefox press <F10> to display them.

Then go to View - Toolbars and select Add-on Bar.  You should now be able to see the ReminderFox icon.

For future reference, I note that control + / key toggles the add-on bar. Confirming: control /

Hi,

When installing Reminder Fox, I get a message, "Reminder Fox could not be installed because FireFox cannot modify the needed file". What does that mean and what do I do?

Thanks,

Hi les!

A Google search turned up some solutions including

Hope that helps.

I just had boxes for both Thunderbird and Foxfire come up saying that
they would start in safe mode. I have never seen these before and
re-booted my computer. When it finished my Foxfire program has lost the
reminder program. If I re-install it will it have the reminders I had
already set up or will they have to be re-created? If they have to be
re-done I do not want mess with it again just to potentially lose it all
over. Please let mo know so I can proceed or not.

Thank you,

Pete Henson

Hi Pete,

if you have access to the old profil, please do a search for all files with .ics and identify the last recorded file. Copy that to a save place for later use -- and to have a backup also.

With the Reminderfox Options --> tab:File you can import from any file .. like the one you saved from the old profile.
It should ask you to "add" or "overwrite". So it's your decision ;)

Hope it helps

Günter
