Missing RedDots

Greetings,
I help end users of RedDot and therefore lack more technical backend
knowledge etc. The issue encountered in in a couple of different
projects is the disappearance of reddots. While one can click a
reddot to open a page, all editing-related reddots are missing (?).
Any thoghts or ideas as to what might be going on would be helpful.
And, although I don't possess the technical knowledge, I can pass on
the info to a web developer. Thanks for your help!

If they are on 10.1 then its a known issue. See my blog post for workarounds
Otherwise as Jian says we would need to see the template code
