Merging Containers for different variant

Hi All
I am looking for a way to merge the containers into a single
container from html variant to another variant. Does anyone has an
good approach of doing this? Ideally, would like to have the ability
to sort the pages (from different containers) after the merge. If
possible I like to avoid any preexecute coding within the templates.

Any advise would be great

Is that a permanent change or just when viewing / publishing the other variant?

If this is a permanent structural change you could do this using RQL.
