Okay, so I just wanted to get a very unscientific count from other Red Dot users. What data base back end do you use?

The reason I ask is that we are using Oracle 11, so I'm just curious to see how many other people are using Oracle and then if they are having any of the same quirks we seem to be having (none of which support can replicate).

I figured out for me that the MS SQL DB is much faster than oracle and
more reliable.
Having the CMS and the DB on the same hardware was the best solution so far.

We are doing to the same thing as Mario. MS Windows 2008 R2 and MS SQL 2008 R2 on Version 11 HF1,2 and 3.

From personal experience with previous projects I can't recommend anything other than MS SQL.
