Greetings Brothers & Sisters,
According to Snowboarder Mag (Oct 94) page 143 reports that
widowmaker snowboards a cd entitled "Slopestyle" and I
paraphrase - an instructional video built for gamers who want
more than just a basic vhs video, featuring cd quality sound, full
motion, full color, and 27 lessons to help you ride. Call
3DO at (415) 261-3463 for info/order.
P.S. I heard the Burton cd is nothing but a disk of their catolog
that was released this season - too late & too lame for me.
Anthony.

Anthony,
Hope you have one of Trip Hawkins' suped up little 3DO game systems
because that's what you'll need if you're going to watch the Widowmaker
title. Also, regarding Burton's CD you should see it before you slag it.
It's actually a kickin' piece of code.

Bye,
Lee

I agree that any cd catalog should be released when a paper catalog is
released. I already have rifled through the catalog many times at this
point, so seeing the cd catalog now is just a novelty.

But I disagree that a catalog on cd-rom is lame. I'd prefer to recieve
a cd-rom catalog from Burton next year instead of a paper catalog.
Think about it. If the catalog were to be done right, instead of having
a single picture of a product, you could pan around the object, zooming
in and out. You could change the colors to the different ones
available.

For the fun of it, they could allow you to dress up a paper doll. You
know stick a board on the feet of some generic man or woman, then put
any of the clothes and boots on them...

I think cd-rom catalogs can be a lot more creative than paper catalogs.

I hope some boarding company out there is reading this and going,

"Hmmmm...Ya know, that just might work!"

Later on folks,

What about, say, ray-traced renderings of boards (and possible bindings and other products... because it would actually be useful; you could examine the board from literally *every* angle, possibly using Apple's QuickTime VR technology...

Hmmmmm that's kind of bizarre. Not really my taste, paper dolls never really appealed to me after the age of, oh, say 18 or 19. But before then, hoooooooboy lookout. ;-)

heh
tis my said story too, my mom made me stop playing with dolls the day I
turned 20....
Curse her wretched soul!

*sigh*

I think it'd be a cool gimmick to get people interested in looking at
the clothes..what else our you going to do, put them on a buxom beauty?
:)
now wait a minute..... :)

Actually I got my Burton CD last week, damn they sent me a MAC CD and I
got a IBM...luckily a friend has a mac, and the cd is really cool. They
have a 3D rotation part with all the boards, where you can look at the
board from any angle. Not to mention they also have video clips for
each line of boards.

There's more, but that's all I'm gonna say...since some people around
here think it's lame!

;)

p.s. I called them and asked about IBM cd's they said there was a
problem with the last batch and they had to send them back to get
redone....

Hey slick, back up there a second....

I have that CD-ROM from Burton too, but I didn't see any interviews...
sure I saw them all riding, they got clips of that, but I never really
saw any interviews. Maybe I missed something...

I talked to some lady at Burton, and she was saying there's all
kinds of neat stuff on the disk, like clicking in different places or
such gets neat things not otherwise seen.....anyone find any of these?

wh00t!!!!

Maybe your info's about the 'Silent Movie' Burton CDRom. That is just
product shots and small picts. The new one's got 3D rotational boards,

Quick Time 2.0 films, interviews with Brushie, Kelly, Haakonsen ++ So
check your sources before you slag, ok.

Cheers, Stig.

hear a phone interview of Terje, Kelly, Brushie...not very cool, but it is
there =)
