You know what happens when you don't update a database?

I finally updated mine and though I knew I was closing in, thank
goodness it didn't happen at PGA during the FallCon. (Grizzly,
shudder, shudder!)

I happened on my second day at IOA last weekend. The only coaster
there I had not ridden.

Number 200 is: Pteradon Flyers!!

Count now stands at 203.

Congrats Jeff! I am glad to hear that such an amazing coaster ended up
being your 200th. I had something very similar happen to me when I was
getting close to 100. I wanted Steel Force to be #100 but I forgot to count
a coaster I had ridden a few weeks before. Number 100 for me was none other
than Hercules!!! =:^)

Sean ( who's
250th was thankfully Rock -N- Roller Coaster and not Woody Woodpecker
(#251))

Well,well...aren't you the lucky one! Don't feel too bad though. Only one of
my milestones panned out.
#1- Runaway Mine Train-SFGAd
#25- Magnum XL-200-CP (I wanted Raptor!)
#50- Loch Ness Monster-BGW (I wanted Apollo!)
#75- Dragon <Kiddie> Coaster-Canobie Lake (I wanted Yankee Cannonball!)
#100- Leap-The-Dips (Finally! One milestone worked!
#125-I am at 123 now. When I return to IOA in January I have to ride the
Windstorm and the Kiddie at Old Town and Pterandon at IOA.
Choices,choices...which shall I pick to be the coveted #125...........?

Heh, what a coincidence! I was just going through my own coaster list, and
realized I made several errors. The most serious was forgetting completely
about Cyclops and Pegasus at Big Chief. I rode them, but never included
them in my list! I also forgot to include Exterminator. Fortunately, all
my errors increased my coaster count...

Unless I've made other mistakes, this is what I find for the coaster
milestones I've bothered to track in detail:

#125: Big Apple, Coney Island (thought it was Hercules, not sure which is
worse!)
#150: Caroline Cyclone (thought it was Volcano)
#175: Boomerang, SFDL (not sure what I thought it was; I don't think I
made a big deal over it. If I'd waited a bit longer it could have been
Superman!)
#200: Texas Tornado (thought it was Greezed Lightning; not a bad exchange).

I thought my #100 was Alpengeist. I'm not exactly sure what it really was,
but I think it was something at PKD, possibly Shockwave. I think I'm
giving up counting for milestones, given how badly I've screwed things up!

20-Um...Not quite there... :) Will probably be Boomerang at Wild Adventures...

While in Orlando last weekend, I actually hit number 60. It was the
Dragon at Old Town. The look on the operator's face when we went to
ride it was priceless. "You're kidding? Right?"

Congrats on #200. I'm at 189, so I'm closing in on that one myself. Though
it hasn't always worked out (Great White at Morey's should have been #100
and Mamba could have been #175), I have generally made the effort to get a
good milestone list. Here's mine:

#1 Thunderbolt (Riverside)
#25 Loch Ness Monster (BGW)
#50 Raptor (CP)
#75 Phoenix (Knoebels)
#100 Great Nor'Easter (Morey's)
#125 Shivering Timbers (Mich Adv)
#150 Texas Giant (SFoT)
#175 Outlaw (Adventureland)

I have numerous possibilities for #200, but think it would be cool if I can
make it Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce. This potential #1 woodie is looking
quite impressive so far (we had an up close tour on Saturday). When you put
together Kennywood ownership, CCI construction, PTC trains, and the
incredible terrain of Sounthington mountain, you are sure to get a winner.

- Steve.

You are catching up to me Jeff!! I cannot let that happen! However, you
still have 20 or more coasters to ride before you catch up to the

Oh, come on. There's got to be something you can do. Think, man, think!
Was there ever a small steelie that you forgot about or at one time
thought was not worth counting? Is there a dual/duel coaster you can
justify counting as two? Pteranodon Flyers cannot be #200! It just
can't!

Oh, well. I guess it can. My 100th turned out to be the worst coaster
experience of my life. Batman: You Want to Escape at SFAW. I suppose I
could manipulate the count a little to change that if I were desperate
enough, but then that would mess up other milestones in the process.

It happens to just about everybody at some point. Only solution is to
never ride any lousy coasters. But who's willing to give that up? 8-)

That's true, but I think it'd be better when you've ridden bad coasters to
prove to yourself that the other coasters you've ridden are in fact of very
high quality, don't you think?

I should hit 300 at WDW in three weeks, possibly on the Rock-N-Roller
Coaster. I'm going to pick up the Tennessee Tornado this upcoming
weekend and on my Flordia trip I'll add coasters at IOA, BGT, Old Town and
WDW (except for Big Thunder Mt. which I've already ridden).

I hope I make it otherwise the new Bat Flyer type coaster coming to
Carowinds would likely be my next new coaster.

This is my day at work from IAAPA, and 2 things I found out that were
relevant to this thread:

SwingThing, creators of P-Flyers, is working to increase capacity on
the ride. Options are being discussed, etc. They are the creators of
Carowinds' Super Soaker Saturator which will have higher throughput
(along with 40 gallons of water on every ride to shoot or dump on
guests below).

Caipro, makers of the Batflyer, have another model - a 4-seat job with
a spinning car, think a Wisdom Tornado car on a suspended rail.

Funny.... Pteranodon Flyers was my 200th and it was on purpose(!) Even
though it was lame, it was fitting that such a unique ride (and my
ONLY suspended single-rail coaster to date) be my 200th.

Hulk was 199 and Ice Dragon was 201.
