Inquiry:
After my retirement this summer, we buy somewhere in the USA an used
Motorhome. Wir were already 10 times with a Motorhome in the USA and
visited more then 25 states. Our daughter is married in Los Angeles. My
wife and I have the following questions:
- Price of an approx. 30 foot RV Tip Class C, year 1998 - 2000?
- Cost for taxes and insurance per year for the RV?
- In which state is the RV to register?
- Have you good Tips for buy an used RV?
- For the time being best thanks for your responses.

http://www.nadaguides.com will give "book" prices for all RVs.
Also see htto://www.rv.org for help with the quality of the RV
> - Cost for taxes and insurance per year for the RV?
Depends on your record, state of registry, the company, etc, etc.
> - In which state is the RV to register?
A state with low fees. NOT California, maybe Oregon or Washington.
Expect problems with registration (due to your not being a resident of
that state)
> - Have you good Tips for buy an used RV?
1)Salemen lie. 2)Have it checked out by someone other then the Dealer,
before you buy it (unless you know engines, transmissions, etc)

If Windows is the answer I would really like to know what the question is
I can find you a motorhome here in Oregon, and take care of the registration.
Oregon has no sales taxe on RV's.
For a Class A 30' you can plan to spend $50,000 and up from there, depending
how nice you want it.
Insureance will run from $800.00 to $2000.00 per year. Registration here in
Oregon is approx. $200.00 per two years.
I have about ten dealers here in Oregon, that I work with, so finding you the
right RV shouldn't be any problem.
If you would like you can e-mail me, and let be know what price range, and how
you would like it equiped, slideout, gas or diesel, and so on,

Bonjour Michael

That's OK Ernst is from Bern and speaks german anyway.

Have a nyce day!
Ernst
I expect that he speaks both German and French, and that
he speaks French better than he speaks English.
Jim
It's likely that this (insurance) question can be answered on his end if
he's a substantial insurance client of an interational insurer. This is
certainly not a
rollover for placement of coverage at the time an RV is purchased in the
U.S.
To license a vehicle in any particular state also raises questions of
sales tax, registration, etc. This is a mine field for a foreign
national.
Bob McNabb
I have personally known several foreign nationals who established a mail
forwarding service with Escapees RV Club, Inc. The Texas address is legal for
licensing, registration and insurance.

Actualy it's legal for any foreign visitor to buy, license, insure and
drive in any state in the USA. It's not really tough, I know many. They
have certain hoops to jump through, but they aren't that tough.
I suggest that Bob and Ann don't have a clue about this matter.
