Yeah...I'm outta here for a while. Definatley
not to go over to alt.rap....but maybe I'll
try "reality" for a while.

Topic matter on rmhh has become stale lately
(I'm not complaining...I am partly to blame too)
and dumb-ass people who come up with alter-
egos and post retarded shit has gotten old. I
mean, the "nicknames" you give yourself are
corny enough, why do you guys feel in the need
to come up with more of them?

But I just gotta post one mroe thing before
I stop checkin the ng...

Okay,so if you've got to go, or want to go then fine. But not come with the

Word Allan, we're in actual agreement for once. The heads who are
currently complaining about RMHH right now A.) aren't doing a damn
thing about it or B.) are apart of the problem. Any newsgroup will only
be as strong as the heads who post. Just to put in a word for alt.rap,
that ng isn't as half as bad that heads try to make it out to be so
you're not degrading yourself by posting there. The hip hop discussions
may not run as deep but the heads over there are more humble. Actually
RMHH is in more chaos than alt.rap now. I post in alt.rap and I'm
actually not hated over there. I mostly just drop dope lyrics on the
board.

Alt.rap is more family oriented, theres just too many heads here, alot of the
heads of altrap check it almost everyday and post. If you can make a name for
yourself here thats pretty impressive, I been here for a year and a half and
still noone knows me, Im surprised Im even in the clash.
Yeah the convos on hiphop arent as deep, we dont all love deep puddle dynamics,
anticon, and aceyalone, but we still talk about shit. I remember you were
hated kaz, thats why you came to this newsgroup in the first place. But its
all gravy now. Thats enough of a post that noone is going to read anyway.

Exactly.

And Alan, don't give me that shit about posting once a month. You know damn
well I used to put a lot of energy into this newsgroup but now, the shit sucks.
I don't know what you'd expect me to do about? Maybe that's why I now post
once a month, if that. The subjects suck and when I try to liven it up, no one
pays attention anyway. Why don't you put all your faith in your god, k.orr,
and pray for good things to come. Talk about someone who never posts...how
long was kari gone for? 3 years? 4? Maybe posting once every 6 months in the
meantime? And to me, Fatboy is FAR from funny. To see you all jock him like
that is pitiful. Also Mos Defs album sucks, he can't sing for shit. The Roots
might put on a dope live show, that's about it. No one responds to posts about
Akrobatic, for example...but a Roots thread gets about 50 replies. Please.
I'm glad I was here from the beginning, one of the first females to be a part

I wont ever post again, or even check the newsgroup, but I'm just putting it

I always posted in alt.rap and rmhh simultaneously. I started posting in
each group like in December of last year. Yeah I was once hated in
alt.rap, especially after the second KOTNG in Feb. All the heads in
there been squashed any beef they had with me though.

well, humor is COMPLETELY subjectively...even more subjective than music...at
least with music there is a technical aspect, like notes and so forth, that you
could rely upon to describe why something is technically good...you can't even
do that with humor...I say all that to say, I think Fatboy is funny, you don't,
so what?

> To see you all jock him like
>that is pitiful.

Is it jocking to say "that's funny"? He ain't funny all the time, but his
batting average is pretty high IMO.

>Also Mos Defs album sucks, he can't >sing for shit.

Was that a cause/effect statement? Are you saying his singing alon ruined the
album for you? How sad. even if you hated the singing, there were several
tracks without singing that banged quite well, such as "Know This" and
"Mathematics", but, hey, say what you will...

>The Roots
>might put on a dope live show, that's about it. No one responds to posts

1) To my knowledge, the Roots have been putting out records longer than
Acrobatik and have more full length releases than Acrobatik...thus people who
like the roots' music have heard a helluva lot more of it and are therefore
"longterm fans" usually...so, yeah, long term fans like to talk about their
favorite acts more than someone who just likes someone's 1 or 2 12 inches (not
saying Acrobatik ain't got more than a few joints, just that most people
probably own one or two of whatever he put out).

Learning how to write innovative, enlightning posts takes a hell of a
lot of time and experience. You don't necessarily have to have been
doing in on USENET (i.e. it could have been for magazines, classes, or
you're own diary)

What a stupid thing to say...

Actually, not only is he funny...but he's pretty damn on point to.

>might put on a dope live show, that's about it.

I'm not a fan of Mos' album either...but I wouldn't outright say it
sucks. That may be part of your problem...tell us why it sucks.

Personally, I thought at 60% of the songs featured bland and
uninspiring production...but Mr. Nigga and Fear Not Of A Man are about
as dope as anything that I've heard in the last little while.

And yeah, you're not alone on the Roots either...more than a few heads
on here have issues with them.

>No one responds to posts about

>Akrobatic, for example...but a Roots thread gets about 50 replies. Please.

Who the fuck is Akrobatic...

....maybe that'll help answer some of your questions.

Dickriding may be the only valid point you have in this post...way too
much of it goes on (whether it be Roots, Mos Def, Nas, Canibus,
Aceyalone, etc...). It seems very few people are able to step back and
really evaluate a certain artists (regardless of the fact that they're
a favorite of theirs or not).

Ultra is one of my favorite groups of all time...yet I really started
losing interest in Kool Kieth around the Dr. Octogon time frame. And
Ced Gee sounds like death on that recent 12" of his.

Yeah but how often do you post now? about once a month!
I have not got a problem with that, you could post 10 times a day, or 10
times a year who cares. But when one of the few posts that you do send is
one having a go at the posts in here, that is when I get the problem.

You seem to want to take credit for the "good old days" but when things make
a change and you are not happy with it then it must be everyone else's fault
that it does not suit you!

> I don't know what you'd expect me to do about? Maybe that's why I now

Well if they don't interest me then I won't reply, which applies to everyone
in here! How on earth can I compose a response to a subject matter that I
don't have a clue about or care about? I can't, so I don't!

> Why don't you put all your faith in your god, k.orr,
> and pray for good things to come.

I really don't understand this point at all!

> Talk about someone who never posts...how
> long was kari gone for? 3 years? 4? Maybe posting once every 6 months in
the
> meantime?

Who cares. You could be gone for decades, but don't come back and criticise
the posts when you have not been contributing. If it is that important then
why don't you make the changes, or propose what we should do instead of
dissing and running!

> And to me, Fatboy is FAR from funny. To see you all jock him like
> that is pitiful.

Yeah it's so bad the way everyone thinks that he is funny! Hold on, maybe,
just maybe he is funny? I know for certain that some of the shit he has
said has made me laugh out loud. Okay some is not funny too me, some is
crap, but a lot of it is interesting, and that is why I read his posts and
have respect for his oppinion.

> Also Mos Defs album sucks, he can't sing for shit.

I have yet too hear it, but from what people say it is very good. And this
is coming from people in here, and elsewhere!

> The Roots
> might put on a dope live show, that's about it.

Iladelph halflife is a great album in my oppinion ("what they do" is a
classic track). But yet again it is all down to oppinion.

> No one responds to posts about
> Akrobatic, for example...

I have never heard of them. And have not heard one track from them, so why
should I be interested.

> but a Roots thread gets about 50 replies. Please.

Oh boo-hoo, a group that you don't like is getting talked about. Well we
had better put an end to that. So RMHH is getting shit because we are
responding to threads about popular groups, well oh shit, we had better stop
talking about things we like!

> I'm glad I was here from the beginning, one of the first females to be a

> of RMHH.... but at this point, it bores the hell out of me.

I really don't see what being female has to do with this! Explain!

> And Im not saying

it
> out there that there's way too much dickriding going on here and I aint

By dickriding do you mean people getting respect, and people agreeing with
other peoples oppinion?
I think you have just got confused with the phrase.
Or were you one of these people who like an artist UNTIL they are
successful, because I see similarities in what is being said!

Look, that is my oppinion, and if you don't like it then who cares just
disagree with it (unless you are riding my jock), but that's the way I see
things. I am sticking up for not only RMHH but all my posts as well, and if
you have a problem with that, then do what you have got to do!

Yeah sorry, I was having a bad day. I don't really feel like explaining
myself, as rude as that is... I just felt like relieveing some stress, that's
all. Yeah, shit pisses me off, and everything I said is real, it's how I feel,
but I didn't need to attack like that. RMHH really doesn't effect me in that
way, trust me. It's just like when something is bothering you and you vent out
about irrelevent shit to release tension....that's where my head was at
yesterday... didn't really mean to piss anyone off.

And just for the record, I CAN write and my posts are interesting to ME (as
well as a few others) so that's why I write them. Fuck it if people don't
respond. It's just the fact that the majority of topics in here bore me....
and yes, that's my opinion. Which means that I'm not really feeling too many
people on this newsgroup, which means that it's probably time to stop checking
for this newsgroup.... can't force it, you know?

Your posts always interest me. I haven't been on as much (which was too
much?) in the past month or so + my server is f-up my ngs, but I read
just about everything but I'm not always able to reply because of the
fact that I don't know the artist (s) or the technical aspect of
something being discussed ( ie: DJ threads ), but I read them to learn
about something or someone I might not know otherwise. I'm sure there
are a lot more people like me out there in that aspect.

BTW, I recently caught an old post of yours about loving hardcore rap
and I was totally feeling it because I had just heard _Live and Let Die_
and you described _exactly_ how I felt after hearing it for the first
time! I can imagine that people like yourself who have been here for
years, must go through rmhh burnout periods. I guess its similar to
spending too much time with your family after you've grown up. Hope
you'll still post now and then though.

regards,
Dis.

Nicely said, I find it funny that this place is more disrupted nowadays
compared to alt.rap. Especially as we have a reputation for being worse.
Hmmm. I think we got a better understanding and like Swinga says, it's
probably due to being less people. But, let's stop praising our place, or

When did Ced Gee not? I haven't liked him on anything dating since
"Critical Beatdown" was released. I really do believe he's a crack
addict judging by his rap style.

I'll second that on the dickriding though. I do it, we all do it.
Hell that's why I actually prefer to get dissed in the newsgroup.
When somebody says they like me it usually makes me uncomfortable.
If you do, so? This is only the internet; it's not like we hang.
There +are+ some people on this group who I +would+ hang with for
real but they know who they are - I don't need to say it online.
And as for dickriding rap artists; well shit, we all have favorites.
Even when I think Kool Keith is wrong or too far out there I tend
to overlook it because I'm on his jock and I give him the benefit
of the doubt more than I would others - and I recognize this. I
think the problem is that a lot of people who +do+ dickride don't
realize the fact they are cutting their favorite artists slack.
It's not +wrong+ to do it. What's wrong is when it gives you such
narrow tunnelvision that a single criticism of an artist by ANYONE
on the newsgroup seems like a personal attack on YOU. Whether it's
the Wu-Tang, Nas, Mos Def, The Roots, whatever, it ain't personal.
Nobody holds it against you for liking them so please don't hold
it against anybody else because they DON'T.

I got some questions about that list yo..

* Why is the only album under Kreators the "Lost Pages" EP?
* Hasn't Almighty RSO put out a lot more shit than that?
And doesn't their "Made Men" album count?
* How do you decide what does or doesn't count as Boston?
You list Big Shug and GangStarr Posse, but none of the
records that Guru made after he moved to New York. He's
+still+ originally Boston (and Premier is originally Texas).
* How come Ed O.G. and the B.U.L.L.D.O.G.S. lists "Life of
a Kid in the Ghetto" and not the follow-up "Roxbury 02119"?

Every 12" or record ever released by a Boston artist?
Not quite. This list is sadly far from complete.
