apparently it is out of sync......some in here say as much as
30MS...that's as much as I know. Others will know much more.

are you sure you're not thinking of ADT or Auto Double Tracking, which was
basically first done by messing about with the heads on a Studer/ReVox tape
deck? This was also the basis of the first flanging technique ADT and then
flanging the reel...

ok i dont want to steal danny's thunder here, but it's actually ADT...:)

ADT - Artificial Double Tracking...
And of course the second vocal is out of sync - if you sing something
twice, it won't be in perfect sync, and if you play the same thing back
twice in perfect sync, it will sound like one thing... Thus you put a bit
of delay to make it sound like two things...

Yes, it *is* out of sync, and it has nothing to do with ADT. Someone blew
it on the remix. Anyway, on the original, ADT was not used on the verses.
