Which do you think are the best PX3 clubs? I seem to have a harder time
doing body throws with PX3 Circus compared to PX3 Vegas/Deco. I've not
tried the PX3 Pirouette nor PX3 PM. Thinner and longer handle sounds
better though, so I'm tempted to get the Pirouettes or PM. What do ya'll
think?

px3 light formula are great. 200 g instead of 230 g . I think that px3
pirouette light formula are the best clubs all around.

I use px3 pirrouttes, they are a perfect all round club, perhaps not the
absolute
best for passing, but they truly are excellent clubs. I do quite a variety
of
body rolls and get excellent result... px3 vegas on the other hand are
stupid and
wrong, altough they may be good for alberts or treblas because most of the
weight
is at the end, i would never ever buy a set

My understanding was that the pirouette's (at least with the wrapped
handle, not
the moulded ones) are the same as the vegas, but without the decoration.
That's been my experience juggling them and how I've seen them advertised:

http://www.oddballs.co.uk/narrowbodied-clubs-play-px3-pirouette-wrapped-c-1192_1235_1946.html

I think some renaming went on on the play website. But I don't have the
energy
to fight through that buggy flash monstrosity right now.

there's a completely different feel between the two clubs... and as far as
I
recall play have renamed the pirouttes "sirius"

play have renamed all there clubs... and as far as I can see the names
haven't
really caught on. The px3 quantum were formally known as px3 circus, a
nice
club with a plastic unwrapped handle thats shorter than on pirouttes.
they're
excellent quality like all play clubs, but when I was sent a set by
mistake I
was quick to return them to get the px3 pirrouttes I ordered, because I
don't
like the hard plastic handles or short handled circus clubs. Still a
perfectly
awesome club, just not my thing

I can't agree. The pirouette/sirius clubs I've seen are the same
as the vegas clubs I've seen, as long as you get the wrapped
handle version of both. The vegas just has a spray-on decoration.

The playjuggling.com website agrees:
"The VEGAS is the decorated version of our SIRIUS"
The listed specs are all the same.

Both types of club have gone through some modifications over the
years, so possibly you are comparing different generations of club.

Have you just seen the clubs or have you actually juggled them? I've
juggled
both clubs, same gen, even ordered from the same place as far as I know
and
they do feel different.
Even if the specs are the same that doesn't neccesarily mean they feel the
same. Just because two clubs are the same weight doesn't mean they have
the
same weight distribution.

I have juggled a mix of the clubs and not noticed a
difference. Maybe I'm just not as discriminative as you are.

I did tests and weighed several styles of play clubs a little while back.
so unless Davide changed them in the last 6 months.....

The wrapped handle px3 and colored molded handle have good few grams
difference. the molded handle is slightly thicker and doesn't taper as
much toward the bottom. iirc it was maybe a 5 gram difference or so. the
white molded handles are even a slight bit thicker again over the colored
molded handle. and weigh a further couple grams or so heavier. the vegas,
are exactly px3 piroettes. iirc were nearly identical in weight to the
wrapped handle piroettes. only difference is the spray deco and taping.

The tops were changed a year and half ago. which added a little bit extra
to the end. making it spin a touch faster. which was a good thing.

if they haven't changed, imo the molded white handles are quite heavy and
cumbersome- I think they weighed a good bit over 230 grams, but I

I just checked on the play website, the weights have recently been
adjusted to reflect my tests, you can see the wrapped handle vs the
molded. 5gr difference. But still note, the handle width difference
between the wrapped and molded, and the further width difference between
colored and white molded handles, and as well as the extra gram or 2 on
the white vs colored molded handles.

IMO- I much much prefer the wrapped- for my money, one of the best clubs
going. the weight distribution and spin is sweet. the colored molded
handles are ok, but not quite as nice. the molded white handles are a no
go. If you just get the white(or colored body) px3 piroettes with the
wrapped handles you will not be sorry- they are listed as 225g.

Davide does want to do colored wrapped handles, but ordering the vinyl,
he'd have to get like 4 years supply all in one go, and that would have
been a small order as a favor from the company he deals with. The right
vinyl wrap does exist, someone source it from a german home depot store.
and had it on his clubs at ejc last year. I don't know what the latest gos
kinda out of the loop atm.

I think it's more likely that you're the juggling equivalent of an
audiophile[1] and would swear up and down that a little silver spraypaint
makes a massively noticible difference to your juggling.

[1] My favourite audiophool product is possibly the special green pens
you can buy for colouring in the edges of your CDs to reduce stray
laser light and improve the tonal clarity of the recording.A

Either that or the small stands you can buy to isolate your speaker
wiring from ground vibrations.

I think you probably have incredibly dulled senses if you don't think that
these things make a difference.

As for the club weight problem, I have some self-adhesive weight
adjustment film, which can be used as required to tailor the club weight
*and* balance (simply apply it where it's needed). It's easily applied,
transparent (so as not to ruin the appearance of the decorations), comes
on a convenient dispenser, and exceedingly good value at only £15 per
roll. I'd be happy to sell this to anyone who would like it, and as a
bonus it can also be used to hold the paper together when you wrap up
presents.
