NINTENDO OFFERS NEW CONFIGURATION

(June 1)
Nintendo of America Inc. is offering a new configuration called the
"Control Set," for its 16-bit Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The
new system comes packaged with the Super NES control deck and a hand
controller and is priced at $99.95.
The company also announced release of 75 new game titles for the SNES
in the second half of this year.
"Our introduction of the Super NES Control Set," said Marketing Vice
President Peter Main, "will give consumers the opportunity to pick and
choose the games and accessories that meet their play preferences."
Players still will be able to purchase the current Super NES Super
Set, packaged with two controllers and the SNES stereo cable and Super
Mario World software for $149.95.
Nintendo projects sales of more than 6 million Super NES systems in
1992, adding to the 2,100,000 systems it sold following introduction in
the last four months of 1991.

So even though SNES is going to $99.95 and I paid $139.00,
I got an extra controller, and Super Mario World, so I do
not feel too bad. I use both controllers and SMW is decent enough.
I also use both TV adaptors that came with it, since I have 2 TV's.

Oh well, new pricing means wider base perhaps more software,
I am just waiting for SF2 in any case.
