It doesn't have the connector for a SegaCD.
It isn't a Sega product at all. When Sega 'washed their hands' (and took a
tax write-off) of the Genesis a couple of years ago, they sold everything to
a company called Majesco. Majesco has been liquidating the Gen2 systems and
remaining games. They've apparently done well enough that they had this new
system made, and they are re-releasing certain games slowly. For instance,
according to the EB website, Contra is coming back out this month. I doubt
there will be any actual "new" games, but you never know...

Go to www.sega.com/store and you can find a "RF unit" under Genesis parts
for a Gen2; this should work with a Genesis 3. Of course, it's 21.99, almost
as much as you paid for the system...
I've played the Frogger on the Genesis and I like it. It has a simple title
screen that interestingly says copyright 1998 Majesco Sales Inc., 1997 Hasbro,
and 1981 Sega. It has simple text screens following that describe how to play.
There is also a two player (alternating) option. Again all this is barebones
as if it was presented on an early 1980's home videogame system. The game
itself is the classic version. I have played it with several people and we all
found it more fun than the souped-up polygonal version of last year, and we
were not at all bothered by the straightforward opening screens (I should point
out there is a cartoon type drawing of Frogger at the beginning and end of the
game).
At this point, the strangeness of writing a review of this game is setting in
but what the heck, let's continue.
The gameplay seems more forgiving than other versions I have played,
particularly when it comes to getting your Frog into one of the home bays at
the top of the screen. This is a good thing. The levels increase
appropriately, and the music changes as you play. The Crocs, snakes, otters,
flies and girl frogs are all along for the ride as well.
Hey - it's 1998, it's Frogger, and it's a NEW game on your 1989 16bit Genesis.
A bargain at $15.00 for those who like retro games.
There are some very funny stage designs, more funny than any other
action game you can name.
