Has anyone seen this new Genesis 3 ? Its only 29.00 and it looks
about twice the size of the controller. Thats pretty small !
Does anyone know if you can hook up the SEGACD to the New
Genesis 3 ? and also why did Sega release it ? Are they planning on
releasing a new batch of Genesis games ?

It's been discussed before, but no problem. :)

It doesn't have the connector for a SegaCD.

It isn't a Sega product at all. When Sega 'washed their hands' (and took a
tax write-off) of the Genesis a couple of years ago, they sold everything to
a company called Majesco. Majesco has been liquidating the Gen2 systems and
remaining games. They've apparently done well enough that they had this new
system made, and they are re-releasing certain games slowly. For instance,
according to the EB website, Contra is coming back out this month. I doubt
there will be any actual "new" games, but you never know...

Hey! Toys R Us has a new Genesis Frogger game advertised & in stock from this
Majesco company. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen this game for the
Genesis before. If Majesco is releasing unreleased Genesis games, I say bring
'em on! By the way, Frogger is $15 bucks new and is the classic - not
polygonal - game. Well worth it if you like classic Frogger. Graphics and
sound are what you would expect and are fine. A fun classic.

I knew this was coming to the SNES, but not the Genesis. Cool! I'm sure I'll
pick up one of them real soon now. Reviews from someone who has played them
would be welcome, of course.

Go to www.sega.com/store and you can find a "RF unit" under Genesis parts
for a Gen2; this should work with a Genesis 3. Of course, it's 21.99, almost
as much as you paid for the system...

I've played the Frogger on the Genesis and I like it. It has a simple title
screen that interestingly says copyright 1998 Majesco Sales Inc., 1997 Hasbro,
and 1981 Sega. It has simple text screens following that describe how to play.
There is also a two player (alternating) option. Again all this is barebones
as if it was presented on an early 1980's home videogame system. The game
itself is the classic version. I have played it with several people and we all
found it more fun than the souped-up polygonal version of last year, and we
were not at all bothered by the straightforward opening screens (I should point
out there is a cartoon type drawing of Frogger at the beginning and end of the
game).
At this point, the strangeness of writing a review of this game is setting in
but what the heck, let's continue.
The gameplay seems more forgiving than other versions I have played,
particularly when it comes to getting your Frog into one of the home bays at
the top of the screen. This is a good thing. The levels increase
appropriately, and the music changes as you play. The Crocs, snakes, otters,
flies and girl frogs are all along for the ride as well.
Hey - it's 1998, it's Frogger, and it's a NEW game on your 1989 16bit Genesis.
A bargain at $15.00 for those who like retro games.

If one likes Frogger, one should check out a very weird game "Hani on
the Road" for the PCE. It is something like a merge between Frogger
and Moon Patrol. ^_^ There is some Japanese in the game, but Japanese
literacy is not required at all, expectedly. It's my favorite game on
the PCE.

There are some very funny stage designs, more funny than any other
action game you can name.
