STTNG secret mode help

ok, i've tried the code b,1r,2l,1r,4l,1r,8l,2r several ways.

I've tried it before the first ball starts, I've tried it after
hitting the start button with the first ball waiting, i've tried
pressing the trigger and right flipper button at the same time during
both to send the sequence through, and i've tried pressing the right
flipper button and trigger button at shuttle simulation during the
middle of the game. Obvioulsy I'm doing something wrong? When should
I put in the code and do I press anytihng after the last (2R) option
in the code. Do I press the trigger and right flipper buttons at
all?

I've looked at a bunch of old posts with about 4 different supposed
ways to get to the mode but I've had no luck.

Please show me the way

There are two modes you are talking about here...

The first, "Riker's Poker", is reached if you hold down the right
flipper and press the trigger when choosing whether to pick the points
or the shuttle simulation.

The second is the "Breakout game". This is started with your first
key sequence when there isn't any game going at all.

I'm sure others will chime in with more detailed information, but
hopefully this will get you started.

Update: I put in the code in attract mode and can play riker's poker
when I get to shuttle simulation. When you get to shuttle simulation
hold the trigger button first then very quickly after that hold the
right flipper button down. This starts riker's poker. Didn 't check
to see if I needed to actually put the code in first to do this or
not?

Anyways, I still have not gotten to the breakout/pong game by putting
in the code? Can anyone else point me in the right direction? The
easter eggs sheet doens't specifically spell out when and how to do it?

OK. To be more specific:

In attract mode (that's where you are before you hit the play button),
enter the following code:

B, 1R, 2L, 1R, 4L, 1R, 8L, 2R.

B = hit both flipper buttons at the same time.
R & L = I think you can figure this out :)

Nothing will happen.

Then, start a game.

Work your way through the game to where you select 25 million points
or the shuttle mission.

Hold the trigger, and press the right flipper button, like you would
for Riker's Poker.

Since you entered the code before this game started, though, you will
now be playing Breakout. You get no points for doing this, but it is
still pretty cool!

I seem to be doing everything correctly but I keep getting Riker's
poker instead of breakout. Might it have anything to do with free
play V. quarters. Mine is on free play. I put the code in during
attract, then when shuttle simulation starts I hit the trigger and
right flipper buttons but keep getting riker's poker instead.

Just a thought. What version ROMS are you running?

Running version LX-7, so I beleive thats either the newest or second
newest version

The only other thing I can think of is to make sure that you hold down
the trigger while simultaneously hitting the right flipper button,
especially since you've already upgraded your roms to LX-7.
