Saw an IJ advertised here in Australia a week or so ago. Company that
sells pins and other things. There was a picture of it and it looed nice.
Little faded but nice. Couldn't believe the price though - $6,000
(Austalian) $4,500 (US). Just going by the picture it didn't look all
that better than mine. I paid $1,000 (Australian) - that would be about
what, $550 US???? - for it about 5 years ago. Only always used
occasionally and always kept clean and well maintained.

My question is, have the price of IJs gone up THAT much over the past few
years? $6,000 seems pretty excessive to me. I was told by the company who
moved it for me recently (when I moved house) that it looked good and
that they'd sell it (they also fix and sell pins) for $4,000 Australian.
I never thought of a pin as an "investment" before but it sure looks like
I lucked out finding this one. Guy who sold it to me was more into
earlier pins. Had a kiss, eight ball, playboy, etc.,. and the last I
heard he was selling his collection and buying 90's pins. Bet you he's
kicking himself now for letting the IJ go!
