Hey! How about a game with SUPER_BARS ?

> Announcement from Yuntz, (#8) dated Thu Jul 3 05:24:18 2014
Game hasn't even started and already 3 has moved down
and Ugly is moving up.

But don't worry guys...I've got your back.

> Announcement from Yuntz, (#8) dated Thu Jul 3 19:52:41 2014
And now...Ugly's on top!!
Woo hoo!

Why am I at the bottom?
(ever get that sinking feeling?)

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Sun Jul 6 06:47:54 2014

Late breaking news!

Splash!
Splash!

Ship #0 is out !!
Lock your kids up. It's an unsafe place out there.

In other news:

Tool started the campaign on a strong note and grabbed the yellow jersey from Ugly who was the pre-game favorite. Since then, 3 has toppled Tool and now sits comfortably on top of the power chart.

Meanwhile Yuntz tried to climb up the chart, but seems to be carrying a lot of deadweight bringing him down.

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Mon Jul 7 09:39:14 2014

3 continues to wear the yellow jersey!

Tool staying steady behind him. Tool and Yuntz have the largest army at this stage (which isn't saying much).

Yuntz seems to be a slow starter, having the lowest development rate.

Ugly meanhwile has the largest population and along with 3 have the most money.
However, his expansion plans are going slower than the others at this stage.

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Tue Jul 8 11:29:36 2014

3 trips, stumbles and falls all the way to the bottom, even though
he has the greatest level of development, the most civs and the most money.
(What's going on??)

Tool grabs yellow jersey. Also has the most ships out there.

Yuntz and Ugly move up due to 3's hiccup.

How will 3 respond? Is it a hiccup or a landslide?
Will Tool consolidate his hold on the yellow jersey?
What will Yuntz do now that he is within arm's reach of the podium?
Does Ugly have a trick up his sleeve?

For answers to all of these questions and lots more,
tune in tomorrow!!

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Wed Jul 9 06:57:20 2014
Lo and behold, the yellow jersey changes again!
That's twice in 2 days!! Wow, this is so exciting.

Yuntz just manages to grab the jersey from Tool and now has the largest military force (which is still not saying much).
He also seems to have a few more sectors that the others, but it's too early to say.

Tool slips into second place, closely followed by Ugly.
The Tool-man has the most iron, cranking out lotsa cm's.

Ugly, with so many civs, doesn't know what to do with them.
Maybe he should build more ships? Also has the maximum dust out there,
amassing as much as Yuntz, Tool and 3 combined! That's helluva lotta dust!!
No wonder his treasury is doing so well.

3 staying at the bottom for now, planning his next move, but with a big
bank you know it's just a matter of time.

Will Tool regain the jersey?
Is it just a flash in the pan with Yuntz or will he consolidate his position at the top?
Will Ugly accelerate his expansion plans?
What will 3 do?

Yuntz seems to holding on to the slim lead at the top, probably due to
his growing mil force. It seems to be taking a hit on his finances
though, with the Wall Street bankers raising a guidance check.

Tool has the next largest force and seems to be matching Yuntz in
most areas, but seems to be better managed with a much more impressive
bank account.

Ugly continues to drill all the dust out as quickly as possible
with a smaller military force resulting in the largest working
population and a steady bank balance. It seems their expansion
strategy has shifted to the next gear with reports of Ugly
ship sightings and colonizations being reported far and wide.

3 continues to have the biggest war chest and has also pushed
it's focus to aggressive expansion. Has not been able to claw
back towards the podium since it was dislodged a couple of
days ago.

Will Yuntz continue to hold on to his lead at the top?
How long will their economy continue to sustain and how
long before their bankers bail?
Will Tool reclaim the jersey that is within arm's reach?
Will Ugly spring a surprise and overtake both Yuntz and Tool?
How is 3's strategy unfolding?

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Fri Jul 11 07:56:30 2014
As expected, Yuntz, on the back of the guidance advisory from his bankers,
hands over the yellow jersey to Tool. Yuntz is tottering on the brink
it seems. Bankers are sweating profusely to hold the economy together.
Needs to get his act together or may soon be sliding further down.

Tool, meanwhile surges ahead and has yanked up the dust generation. Doesn't
look like he will be losing hold of the jersey any time soon.

Ugly continues with it's expansion.

3 is making slow and steady progress. Having control of 1/2 the world's oil puts
3 in an enviable position.

Is it a Yuntz hiccup or will be a landslide?
Will Ugly overtake Yuntz?
Will Tool cement his position as the front-runner?
What are 3's plans with all that oil?

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Sun Jul 13 09:34:24 2014
After 9 updates, Tool is firmly holding on the yellow jersey. Has started exchanging sectors with 3.

Yuntz has been tiptoeing on the edge for the past few updates. Looks like he has sorted himself out with the bankers reposing faith in the leadership. Yuntz "Iron Man" program has found lots of takers and currently boasts the largest stockpile which has also helped in its' expansion.

Ugly has slowly but steadily amassed the largest military force. Looks like someone better watch out (hint hint Y-man!)

3 is also building up it's armed forces on the back of its' aggressive attacks on Tool and Yuntz. Blood has been spilled.

Who will be 3's first victim?
How soon before Ugly strikes?
Is Yuntz really recovering or will there be a re-lapse?
How strong is Tool's grasp on his jersey?

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Tue Jul 15 09:26:23 2014

Tool continues to keep the yellow jersey.
Along with that continues the give-and-take with 3.
Which way will it go?

Yuntz seems to have finally started development again it seems.
He had been stuck in the low teens for the past few updates and has also started recruitment again. This, along with the recently initiated "Drill bit-by-bit" program has been welcomed by the populace.

Ugly has become the pioneer in the advanced weapons area and has taken the early lead (as most pioneers do). This along with their recently re-cast "Hammer time" has found considerable interest with the business folks.

3 has dipped into his considerable war chest and has almost doubled his fleet.

Looks like wheels have been set in motion.

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Thu Jul 17 13:05:03 2014

Tool hands over the jersey to Yuntz!
When handing over, the following was overhead:
"The yellow jersey's cursed I tell ya! Cursed!"

Not only does he hand over the jersey, but Tool slips to 3rd place
Ugly, having the largest stockpile of natural resources, grabs
the 2nd place slot and is now inching towards the podium.
That's how close the race is!!!

Ugly, who is the pioneer in advanced weapon systems, is now focusing
on developing bigger armaments. Meanwhile, late-starters, Tool and
Yuntz have surged ahead in gun development.

It was only a matter of time before 3 made a move.
Feeling uncomfortable with the proximity of Yuntz, 3 decided to
take matters in his own hands and sent out a small fleet.
The raid was intially successful and after taking a handful of
sectors, the crew started celebrating. However, their celebrations
were short-lived as Yuntz decided he didn't like the painting on
3's ships and sent all of them to the bottom of the ocean.
With the attacking fleet taken care of, Yuntz quickly reclaimed the
sectors that had been trespassed.

With the second phase of the game well under way, the
next few days promise to be anything but silent.

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Sat Jul 19 11:26:36 2014

3 has been breached!

It remains to see if he will be able to recover after being
dealt a double blow by Tool and Yuntz, both of whom, he had
picked a fight with.

Yuntz, meanwhile, continues to hold on to the yellow jersey.
He has had the most number of sectors for some time now, and
it seems the period of "slow and steady" growth has been
replaced with "fast and furious". Though, it remains to be
seen how quickly this growth will help his financial status,
as the bankers are still working overtime to keep the economy
afloat.

Ugly meanwhile is still finding new regions to colonize!
He continues to inch towards the podium and build his armada.

Tool seemed to have had enough of 3 and instead of being
content with exchanging a couple of sectors with 3, booted
him off the island and proceeded directly towards 3's mainland.

It looks like 3's time may well be up in this game. Given his
penchant for fishing boats, he may get to go fishing real soon!!

> Announcement from visitor, (#9) dated Mon Jul 21 16:37:13 2014

3 has left the building!

3 get's Tool'd and is the first nation to get sacked!

Yuntz seems have taken the lion's share of 3's sectors so far
and this has only added to his growing empire and extending the
gap between him and the others. He also seems to be sorted out his
financial situation and now has a firm grip on the yellow jersey.

Ugly has bolstered his forces and is strengthening his perimeter.

Looks like the hunt will soon begin!

> Announcement from Yuntz, (#8) dated Fri Jul 25 06:19:40 2014
