On other fronts,
it seems there was quite the bar fight between Jackalope marines and 3
soldiers a while back on a remote outpost. The marines didn't take it
so well when the 3 soldiers snuck onto their base and started playing
opera on the PA system. The 3 soldiers were routed out and tossed off
the island.
In their drunken celebration, a small group of Jackalope marines decided
to steal the mascot of the 3 army. More bar fights broke out and, as
drunken fights do, things erupted again. Jackalope marines were taken into
custody, which didn't sit well with their brothers. After breaking them
out of the basement of the 3 capital building, command no longer found any humor in the situation and things took another turn.

and set sail. When he reached the port he found there was nothing to deliver.

A player inquired how to reduce military payroll when demobilize isn't
possible for want of cash.

You need to enlist the grim reaper. Obvious ways to get soldiers
killed require cash, but you may be able to find not-so-obvious ways.
