Finally, Ed Schroeder has ported the Chessmachine Gideon 3.0 program
to the PC. Additionally, Richard Lang has released version 2 of
his Chess Genius.

My friend has bought both of them and that's his impressions on a 486/50:
Gideon PC (as it is called in Germany) has nice graphics and supports
up to 8 MB RAM for hashtables. Strength seems the same as the card.
Graphics are nice. Chess Genius 2 (until then the best PC program)
has been advanced in many things. It plays even better and has now
nice graphics. It supports 32 MB of hashtables. With DM 199, it's the
clear choice. Both programs have copy protection --- without
de-installation, you may install it twice on your HD.

As he has now nearly all strong PC programs, he'll run a tournament
with them. I'll keep you informed.
