I am considering purchasing one of these database programs. I notice
that Tascbase has gotten very favorable reviews on the CCR website but
Chessbase gets the award for best database program. Interestingly, there
is no current review of Chessbase on the CCR website.
I am currently leaning towards Tascbase because of the large database
included in the introductory bundle, the inclusion of "the king", to
analyze positions, and the use of tree for listing moves. I am hoping
to use a databases to add and refine my opening repetoire. I already
have Bookup and have found that program useful.

What do people think: Chessbase or Tasbase?

Thanks

Computer Chess Reports' request to have evaluation copies of Chessbase 6.
0 sent to CCR reviewers has just been accepted by Chessbase within the
last 24 hours. Web Computer Chess Reports hopes to have at least two or
three reviews of Chessbase 6.0 (depending upon how many evaluation copies
Chessbase will acquiesce to) as soon as the programs are received and
testing is completed. Regards, Steve (ICD/Your Move Chess & Games - www.
