Thanks to everyone who advised me concerning my choice for database. I am
now just about ready to go with Tascbase, there's only one grave
consideration left: the 4 install limit. I upgrade my computer a lot (4-5
times a year, usually swap motherboard and/or CPU about 2 times pr. year)
and if I am forced to install the program again after each hardware
upgrade, 4 installs is NOT going to do it. So my question is: Does anyone
know how to bypass this, or if necessary, ***CRACK*** this copy
protection? I am not a pirate and I am not asking for a illegal copy of
the program, I just want to make sure that if I pay 100$ plus for a
program I am going to be able to enjoy it for more than a year. I am
impressed with the features Tascbase offers and it's attractive price.
However, this does not make up for a copy protection scheme of this
dubious sort.

Actually there are five installs (on my diskette anyway - when the install
count is zero, there is still one left). I agree that this is a problem.
But according to Tasc you will receive new installs by sending back the
diskette. They must change policy, however, because it is not only at
upgrades when new installations are needed. Sometimes one has to reinstall
because things just fucks up. This has happened to me with Genius5 and
TascBase, for instance.
