Hello everyone,
Just a note for Genius 4 users - particularly Win95 users with
lots of RAM - be sure to put the line "dbmode=2" in the
C:\WINDOWS\GENIUS4.INI file - this will enable you to allocate
larger amounts of hash table RAM on Win95 systems with 8+ megs
of RAM. Always allow a few megs for system overhead & other
tasks - I find 12 megs of HASH on a 16 meg Win95 PC just fine.
The default amount allocated is always conservative.
By the way, RAM prices have recently tumbled right down - you
can now get 8 meg 72pin SIMMS for about 77 pounds, or 4 meg
SIMMS for about 39 pounds - so no excuse for putting off that
RAM upgrade. Treat yourself to lots of HASH table space!
