Carbon debts, top 1%, racist...  Get a life and listen to Albert
Einstein when he said that the definition of crazy is doing the same
things over and over again and expecting a different result.

You guys are sick.  You should keep your political crap off this forum.
Oh, and listen to something other than the New York Times and CNN.

Archerzulu,

I didn't start it.  It was 2G, a known troll and, as far as I know not
even from the US so he has no business butting into our internal
affairs.  I simply tried to shut him down using ridicule, a usual tactic

Dan most likely wasn't the OP, because (1) He said so and, (2) If one posts a "New Topic", then deletes it after at least one response, the original post dissolves (but the topic heading remains). It then appears that the first respondent becomes the faux OP.

Maybe 2G is a big contributor to google and I'm not.

Using Thunderbird as my email client, I also read RAS.  I can select
View -> Threads -> All and see the entire thread from initial post until
now.  I was the first responder to 2G, but not the originator.

And now I'm done.  Just as soon as I report him to "The Squad".

Yes, be very quick to jump on anything that suggests the emperor-wanna-be has no clothes (eeww! with a splash of Russian pee).  Say "keep your political crap off this forum" and then, with some like-minded cohorts, proceed to lambast the "libs", CNN, NYT, Squad, etc., thereby plastering this forum with political crap of the Make America Stupid Again ilk, as has been done before.  Not every soaring fan, even on this forum, has drunk the Stoopid Koolaid nor would brag about soaring's Nazi connection.  No doubt, this little post will energize the Koolaid klan to unclench their white gliders to tap out more political crap for days to come.  Or, we can at least try to be the people our grandparents and grandchildren would be proud of before channeling one's creepy inner tribalist (even among "friends") became so fashionable.

In the interests of internet transparency, 2G is the contest ID for Tom Seim, who flies his ASH-31Mi out of western Washington. The IP address for the NNTP server for recent 2G posts locate to Charter Communications in Kennewick, WA.

I suspect the original post ended up on r.a.s. by accident, hence the fairly swift attempt to delete the thread. Not swift enough evidently.

Back to glider flying...

Really? Lots? And is it DOXing when the OP has previously 'outed' himself more
than once on RAS, just as I routinely do?

That last question isn't strictly rhetorical.

IOW, regular, alert, RASidents have long been aware to whom the 2G contest ID
belongs, simply from his posts over the years.

For the record: 1) I've never met Andy Blackburn or "2G"; 2) simply from
perusing this thread, I'd inferred "what Andy wrote" before encountering his
post...which I didn't take as a "DOX attempt." Clearly, YMMV.

And (by way of remaining "RAS legal"), me not being a subscriber to it, I
remain interested to learn anything the NYT might have to say about soaring.

If I offended, I apologize.

I was correcting Dan's speculation that 2G wasn't from the US - not that it really matters as the whole thread was off topic. I didn't disclose anything Tom hadn't already disclosed himself on r.a.s. DOXing in common usage applies to disclosing sensitive and private P.I.I. such as phone number, home address, place of employment, etc. in order to facilitate bullying or other forms of harassment.

I'm not a giant fan of people taking on a nom de plume on r.a.s. or sockpuppeting - which has been a problem on occasion. If you can't say it under your real name, maybe you ought not be saying it.
